Continue ReadingIllinois based Lake Forest College will once again provide a huge opportunity for Arizona athletes to rise their stock or jump start their recruitment. This year, the camp will take place on May 21st at Pinnacle High School where there are currently 37 schools listed, which includes D3, NAIA, D2, and FCS programs, and potentially more to make a presence. As I evaluated the talent at the camp last year, numerous prospects were able to catch my eye and either climb up in the ranks here at Prep Redzone or land a spot in the rankings if they were previously unknown. Most importantly, there were numerous prospects that walked away with multiple offers after showing out in person in front of the many college coaches in attendance. It is a fantastic opportunity that LFC Head Coach Jim Catanzaro provides for Arizona athletes, and will only help to identify those hidden gems that have yet to be discovered.
These schools are officially coming to our Arizona Mega camp on 5/21. More to be announced soon. Don’t get closed out. #ForesterFamily #SouthwestSuburbs https://t.co/YKJG5zPWrW pic.twitter.com/7ypjy7k67p

My favorite thing I saw last year was the level of intensity numerous prospects brought to every drill. I loved seeing that dog mentality and driven competitiveness on full display for prospects that were hungry to land that offer. It gave the small school kids a chance to compete with big school city kids, the undersized kids a chance to prove the eye to paper tests wrong, and at the end of the day you find out who really wants it.
Last year’s standouts
Numerous 2022 prospects ended up committing to schools that had a presence at the LFC Camp last year. Although they were not “on the spot” commitments, they were able to connect and introduce themselves to college coaches on an athletic and personal basis. Some of these athletes include:
Terryon Rowe Terryon Rowe 6'0" | 175 lbs | WR Mountain Pointe | 2022 State AZ , DB, Mountain Pointe- Southwest Minnesota State
Zach Hammett Zach Hammett 5'8" | 185 lbs | RB River Valley | 2022 State AZ , ATH, River Valley- Jamestown
Nick Martinez Nick Martinez 6'1" | 190 lbs | QB St. Mary's | 2022 State AZ , QB, St. Mary’s- Jamestown
Overall a huge opportunity for athletes that want to play ball in college to put their name on somebody’s radar. It will be very interesting to see which AZ athletes will emerge and be able to rise their stock on May 21st. Stay tuned here for a later update on the standouts from the camp.
