This is prime time to dive back into the recent rankings update and break down each position group to see what prospects made the cut and where. Included are prospects from every corner of Pennsylvania, representing each district, collectively creating the most comprehensive state ranking you can find. Defensive Back Breakdown Top 100 [player_tooltip player_id="98507" first="Omillio" last="Agard"] | 6’0, 170 | St. Joseph’s Prep Our top-ranked defensive back in the 2024 class is also the number one overall ranked player in said class. [player_tooltip player_id="98507" first="Omillio" last="Agard"], the 4-star prospect out of the renowned St. Joseph’s Prep, put in the work this past Fall to cement himself as the best player in his class. He’s got plenty of competition for that spot but we doubt Agard will do anything but work to keep that number one ranking. Kenny Woseley Jr. | 6’0, 170 | Imhotep Charter Our second-ranked defensive back is heralded out of Imhotep Charter who seemingly breeds defensive backs year in and year out. Kenny Woseley Jr. lands as a top 10 prospect and is one spot behind Agard. What I love about Woseley’s game is just how raw and untapped I believe his potential still is. He still has ample time to develop, yet is currently looking like one of the more seasoned DB’s Philadelphia has to offer. Excited for his growth. [player_tooltip player_id="141985" first="Khari" last="Reid"] | 5’10, 180 | Neumann & Goretti The separation between Woseley and Reid is pretty much non-existent. I think both are capable of staying atop these rankings for years to come. Like the two above, [player_tooltip player_id="141985" first="Khari" last="Reid"] is stacking up the offers as we speak, recently securing a G5 offer out of Bowling Green. Maryland and Ole Miss have also expressed interest in the form of early offers. Incredible awareness out of this kid. Always in the right place at the right time. Top 200 [player_tooltip player_id="255044" first="Nevan" last="Hopkins"] | 6’0, 160 | Bishop McDevitt [player_tooltip player_id="127244" first="Jaire" last="Rawlison"] is next after [player_tooltip player_id="141985" first="Khari" last="Reid"]. Rawlison’s Bishop McDevitt teammate and secondary counterpart lands just outside the Top 100. That being [player_tooltip player_id="255044" first="Nevan" last="Hopkins"]. Desirable build, makes opposing QB’s pay when throwing prayers up. Can provide quality reps at WR and it shows even on the defensive side of the ball, displaying he’s capable of returning INTs for TDs. Can run and locate. [player_tooltip player_id="219619" first="Armon" last="Richardson"] | 5’11, 180 | Coatesville Here’s a new name that pops off the screen. Richardson serves as Coatesville’s Free Safety put can be pretty much aligned anywhere in the secondary. His play recognition and run-stuff ability could even have him produce at OLB if need be. His tape is loaded with great downhill hits, sniffing out runs and screens before they can get going. His build doesn’t have him trending towards a typical run-stopping safety. He’s got some muscle on him but is still very suited to play the pass and run with offensive weapons downfield. https://twitter.com/ArmonRichardson/status/1469648239485988865?s=20&t=_Bu81D14ib4_ST_iigM_lA [player_tooltip player_id="255942" first="Tyler" last="Roberts"] | 5’11, 170 | Springside-Chestnut-Hill The Inter-Academic League is loaded with talent at every position, amongst every class and program. Here is a DB that was selected as an All-League DB as a sophomore. That’s tough to do in the Inter-Ac. The future is bright for Roberts. I could see a dramatic boost in his ranking going forward. Could see a move to an ATH designation, as he can provide reps at S, WR, and RB. Top 300 [player_tooltip player_id="239060" first="Donovan" last="Biggs"] | 5’8, 150 | Gateway I find it very hard to believe that Biggs is just 150 pounds the way he hits ball carriers. This young man isn’t afraid to get involved and get dirty. Very impressive angles to the football. Awesome finisher in the open field and hardly ever bites or hesitates on film. Impressed with his initial tape. His ranking is a great start to what we hope will be a long and productive career at Gateway, a program that knows how to develop DB’s. [player_tooltip player_id="256267" first="Davonte" last="Jones"] | 5’10, 160 | Baldwin [player_tooltip player_id="256267" first="Davonte" last="Jones"] is quickly becoming one of my favorite prospects and will be in my thoughts come the next update. His film gives you so much. Kick return ability that shows he has open-field vision and acceleration to take kicks back to the house. Effort and gunner ability on special teams is on full display. Jones provides play-making ability at wideout. All this and you still haven’t even seen the true potential of this kid at DB. Excellent hips, smooth transitioning out of hip flip. Can come up and stop the run or set the edge. Awesome catches on display too. Big-time player out of Baldwin HS. https://twitter.com/NEW_ERA_TAE1k/status/1455689428664561674?s=20&t=_Bu81D14ib4_ST_iigM_lA [player_tooltip player_id="256271" first="Amir" last="Muhammad"] | 5’10, 185 | South Philadelphia First year on the field for [player_tooltip player_id="256271" first="Amir" last="Muhammad"], who is beginning to look the part. Might be the best run-stopper on the list. If he continues to grow I could see a permanent move to linebacker. His instincts to read the run could definitely be utilized. Good on South Philly to mix up this kid’s alignments in the secondary. There is a clear trust amongst the coaching staff to leave Muhammad as the last line of defense when at safety, or to fill gaps upfront. That’s saying something considering this is his first year on the turf. Excited to see more! Happy to see him at the camp as well.
