I am going to do a review on the top four running backs in the updated 2024 player rankings. The four players are off to great starts in their high school careers. Off-season training and summer prospect camps participation will jump-start their recruitment as they enter into the upcoming season.
<strong>Anthony Quinn Jr., RB, 6’0" 190 (No. 1 RB, No. 7 Overall), Seventy First HS</strong>. Anthony displays great vision and balance for a young player. He has deceptive speed in the open field and accelerates past defenders, scoring often. He has the instinct to fall forward while being tackled. Anthony was not utilized on pass plays during his second season of varsity play. Anthony Quinn finished the season with 1,870 rushing yards and 32 rushing TDs.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="145671" first="Jake" last="Simmons"], RB, 5’11" 190 (No. 2 RB, No. 12 Overall), North Surry HS</strong>. Jake is a shifty runner who accelerates quickly into openings and runs by would-be tacklers to gain yardage. Jake is an athletic running back who will benefit from adding a variety of running plays to fully utilize his skill set during the upcoming season. [player_tooltip player_id="145671" first="Jake" last="Simmons"] finished the season with 181 carries for 1,159 rushing yards and 18 rushing TDs.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="117630" first="Isaiah" last="Jones"], RB, 5’11" 175 (No. 3 RB, Watchlist), Rolesville HS</strong>. Isaiah displayed exceptional speed and quickness to accelerate into openings to gain yardage. He showed patience while following blockers while running inside to gain tough yardage. <a class="pn-player-link" href="https://prepredzone.com/player/isaiah-jones-2/"><span class="name-pointer">[player_tooltip player_id="117630" first="Isaiah" last="Jones"]</span></a> is expected to have an increased workload during the upcoming Fall season. His speed in the open field will make it difficult for defenders to catch him.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="147684" first="Nigel" last="Dula"], RB, 6’0" 180 (No. 4 RB, Watchlist), Draughn HS</strong>. Nigel follows his blockers and explodes into an opening to accelerate past defenders in the open field to gain big yardage, scoring often. He does not go down after initial contact is made. [player_tooltip player_id="147684" first="Nigel" last="Dula"] finished the season with a <strong>School Record</strong> 211 carries for 1,901 rushing yards and a <strong><span style="font-size: 1rem;">School Record</span></strong><span style="font-size: 1rem;"><strong> </strong>19 rushing TDs.</span>
