Truett is an interesting offensive prospect because of the flexibility he gives his team, being able to line up at wide receiver while also stepping in at quarterback when needed. Having a player who can handle responsibilities at two different positions opens up plenty of possibilities for an offensive coordinator. At receiver, Truett has the opportunity to use his athleticism to create separation, work into open areas of the field, and make things happen after the catch. What makes his versatility even more valuable is his understanding of the quarterback position, which can help him recognize coverages and understand where his quarterback wants him to be on certain routes. When called upon to take snaps under center, he gives the offense another option without having to completely change its approach.
