Where Stop Was Right, Where Stop Was Wrong: Bruins Win Big
In this article:
Columbia was the place to be for the Providence Bowl Friday night between Hickman (6A NR, PRZ #21) @ Rock Bridge (6A NR, PRZ #22). Hickman won last year to snap a long streak of Rock Bridge victories in this rivalry. Rock Bridge was in revenge position with an opportunity to make a statement. A 'statement' is exactly the word that Rock Bridge Coach Perkins used to describe the result.

Highlights
Bruins were too much for Hickman up front.
The sophomore towers at tackle, Beckett Bruns Beckett Bruns 6'8" | 280 lbs | OL Rock Bridge | 2029 MO and Eric Kyne Eric Kyne 6'7" | 313 lbs | OL Rock Bridge | 2029 MO , had the assignment of corralling Hickman EDGE Aaron Henderson Aaron Henderson 6'4" | 200 lbs | EDGE Hickman | 2027 State MO . Bruns is the 6080 285 with a great looking frame, long and lean, and good mobility in space. Kyne at right tackle reports 6070 340. Both look like big time Division I prospects as they continue to develop.

Lea scored a sack on 3rd and 16 with seconds left in the first half, and was in on the fumble early in the 3rd that set up the Nevills to Timbrook score. Lea made plays all over the field. Ibeawuchi logged a strip sack after Lea's sack as the first half was coming to an end, and disrupted the backfield consistently throughout the night.

Aaron Henderson Aaron Henderson 6'4" | 200 lbs | EDGE Hickman | 2027 State MO is a critical piece to the Hickman defense.
In the preview piece, the word X-factor was used. His ability to affect the game with his length and athleticism off the edge has that impact. Multiple times Friday, Henderson worked himself into the backfield and caused reaction throws or quarterback scramble situations. He lined up at every position on the defensive front Friday night.
Hickman had athletes on the offensive side of the ball to pressure Rock Bridge defense.

did his best to put the offensive attack on his back whenever given the opportunity. He was particularly effective in the first half taking handoffs and direct snaps, and at the point of contact showed strength and resilience to power through and gain yards.
Fellow senior Prince Collins Prince Collins 5'10" | 185 lbs | RB/WR Hickman | 2027 MO flashed his spatial playmaking ability. He popped in the 3rd quarter on a 73 yard touchdown run. Saw his lane forming, put a foot in the ground and shot through to go untouched to the house.
Emerging prospect, junior TE Barrett Padberg Barrett Padberg 6'4" | 215 lbs | TE Hickman | 2028 MO certainly has the size, hands and athletic ability to be an increasingly big part of the Hickman offense as he continues to grow and develop.
WHERE STOP WAS WRONG
Taylan Gordon.
The running game of Rock Bridge was overlooked within the Football Friday preview. The junior tailback, estimated 5090 200 and deployed to pound on the ground and get tough yards, did exactly that. Whenever he touched the ball, it was positive yards and the piles moved forward. He scored the second touchdown of the night for Rock Bridge in Goal to Go situation, powering through defenders on the way in.
