last Saturday in Fargo. Francis unleashed his huge powers of durability from start to end of Saturday’s session at NDSU as a running back prospect that plays absolutely fearless thru contact. He also impressed me with his balance and body control on Saturday thru contact. He also shows plenty of agile change of direction for 6’0 235 pounds. Francis has three NSIC offers and after his showing at NDSU, I expect his recruitment to pick up heavily in the coming month in my eyes.

, and am now unsurprised with seeing his stock begin to rise this spring. To begin with, O’Malley recently benched 225 lbs. 33 (!!) times, an eye-popping and straight-up fantastic amount of reps for a collegiate RB, much less a rising senior in high school. He also can power clean 315 pounds and repped 500 lbs. on the squat three times in early April. The truck stick and runaway freight trail of a ball carrier is fresh off MSU-Mankato and Sioux Falls DII scholarship offers, and in what I think would be a match made in heaven, NDSU’s Dan Larson came to watch O’Malley work out in person in late April. The 235 lber. would be a fantastic fullback in the Bison’s offensive attack, and on top of it the rising senior is a great kid with a good head on his shoulders who is going to make whatever future college program very happy in the soon-to-be future. He’s easily the least-fun ball carrier to tackle in the state of Minnesota, with great contact balance, athleticism (see his hurdle a few plays into his junior tape) and a devastating blocking ability in pass pro and as a lead blocker, O’Malley is a three-down back and as impressive of a prep power back as I’ve seen in my time scouting MN prep football. I cannot wait to see who lands the Monster out of Montevideo, especially as he shows off his eye-catching frame in-person this summer camp circuit. Keep grinding, Francis!

Another running back and PRzMN Top Stock Riser to be selected as one of the hardest hitters in Minnesota high school football, Montevideo 6′, 235 lber. Francis O’Malley is a physical specimen and easily takes the cake as the least fun ball carrier to try and tackle in the Land of 10,000 Lakes. Absurdly powerful, O’Malley obliterates opponents with his truckstick or when lead blocking, easily sending them flying backwards and onto their butts like a truck into a crash dummy. O’Malley also laid some grown man hits as a linebacker, and left as many embarrassed and in-pain opponents in his wake than anyone in MN. The pure power he brings to the point of contact is something you do not want to experience, and as either a RB or LB the Montevideo rising senior is one of the hardest hitters in the state, no ifs, ands, or buts about it. The tape speaks for itself!

presents as rousing of a package as PRzMN has seen in a while, and things got even better after he brought his talents to Minnetonka last December for the PRzMN Stock-Up Showcase. We verified the size and athletic numbers, most notably his quickness and change of direction skills, and of all the standout and well-developed recruits to compete in the Tonka Dome that Sunday, O’Malley was top 2 when talking the “eye test.” I would not want to see this dude running full-throttle at me, and neither did Minnesota’s high school football competition. O’Malley just rose 71 spots to our #46 overall prospect in the class, and after a slew of DII and FCS junior day invites and recruiting graphics, the Montevideo junior saw his recruitment officially kick off three days ago with a major scholarship offer from MSU-Mankato. The heavyweight NSIC program couldn’t deny O’Malley’s superiority either, and although I’m not a huge comparison guy, I can’t help but get reminded of NDSU’s Hunter Luepke when watching his game. With the speed to take the edge, good vision, powerful cutting ability, and the meanest truck stick in the entire Land of 10,000 Lakes, O’Malley can get up to speed quickly and knows how to use leverage and pad level to bounce defenders off him like a pinball. He also has a sick hurdle a few plays into his junior film and some devastating blocks in pass pro or when lead blocking for his fellow RBs. The combo of speed and strength breaks down defenses over four quarters and can pop off big plays in a variety of ways. What a fun tape to watch! You got a fan in me for life, Francis.

What were your overall impressions of the day?rn”I loved it. I have been out of football season for a little bit now. The combine was a nice refresher – getting back on the field and lacing up the cleats a little bit. It was well run, and they kept things moving. I liked the drills. There were some drills I had never done, so I can take those drills home and use them – which I am excited for. I hope to be back.”
What were you looking to get out of the day?rn”I wanted to talk to coaches. It is nice to see them in person. I wanted to get my 40 time down because speed kills nowadays. I wanted to make sure I am staying quick and agile with my feet.”
Why do you think you were selected MVP by the coaches?rn”I tried to excel – not so much in the performing aspect – but being positive and enjoying the moment. I don’t hang my head when things go south. You have to enjoy it. You have to be thankful for it. Some kids can’t be here, so you need to be thankful for it – just smile and be thankful for it. Play with passion.”
