Get 25% off your subscription by entering Knight25 in the coupon code area. Enjoy! The third round of the playoffs is in the books! Continuing our series from the regular season, every Sunday during the playoffs, we’ll look at some of the top performances from across the state. This week, we recap some of the top performances from the third round of the playoffs. We’ve finally reached championship week for 6A-3A and 2A and A are in the semifinal round. Check back each Sunday to see who some of the best of the best were from the week that was in high school football. [player_tooltip player_id="206777" first="Canon" last="West"] - 2022 Running Back - Tuttle 40 Carries | 197 Yards | 1 Touchdown Tuttle once again relied on senior running back [player_tooltip player_id="206777" first="Canon" last="West"] to carry the load in their semifinal victory over Poteau. The Tigers punched their ticket to the state championship game behind 40 carries, nearly 200 yards and a touchdown from their senior running back. West has continued to shine throughout the playoffs during this breakout season. The Tigers have relied on the standout to carry the offense and they’ll ask him to do it one more time as they face Clinton in the state title game. [player_tooltip player_id="91049" first="Erik" last="McCarty"] - 2023 Running Back - McAlester 20 Carries | 203 Yards | 4 Touchdowns | 2 Catches | 74 Yards Nobody has figured out a way to contain McAlester junior [player_tooltip player_id="91049" first="Erik" last="McCarty"] as he continues to rewrite the record book at McAlester. He set the rushing touchdown record last year as a sophomore and after his semifinal performance this year, he broke it again and is now 1 and 2 on the single season touchdown list for the Buffaloes. McAlester handled Lawton Mac behind 200+ yards and four touchdowns from their star running back. They face Collinsville in a 1 VS 2 battle for the title. [player_tooltip player_id="61135" first="Ethan" last="Roush"] - 2022 Athlete - Holland Hall 301 Yards Of Total Offense | 4 Total Touchdowns | 1 Interception Holland Hall and senior standout [player_tooltip player_id="61135" first="Ethan" last="Roush"] wanted another shot at Verdigris after losing to the Cardinals in the regular season and they would get their wish. The Dutch would knock off the Cardinals with ease as they put Verdigris away early and often behind a complete performance from their senior quarterback. Roush combined for over 300 yards of total offense and had four total touchdowns on offense and then also added an interception and several tackles on the defensive side of the ball. [player_tooltip player_id="101410" first="Khelil" last="Deere"] - 2022 Wide Receiver/Defensive Back - Eufaula 5 Catches | 133 Yards | 3 Touchdowns | 4 Interceptions Without a doubt the best offensive and defensive performance from the third round came from Eufaula standout [player_tooltip player_id="101410" first="Khelil" last="Deere"]. The star wide receiver could not be stopped on either side of the ball. He finished with five catches for 133 yards and three touchdowns. He also had four interceptions on the defensive side of the ball as Eufaula took OCS out of the playoffs and handed the Saints their first and only loss of the season. Eufaula moves on to the semifinal round against Marlow this week. Luke Hendrix - 2022 Wide Receiver - Washington 8 Catches | 173 Yards | 2 Touchdowns | 1 Interception (Returned For TD) Coming into the quarterfinal round, we knew that Rejoice Christian and Washington had the potential of being a shootout and they didn’t disappoint. Washington would not be stopped as they absolutely lit up the scoreboard in Owasso, eliminating the Eagles. Senior wide receiver Luke Hendrix had a big night for the Warriors as they marched up and down the field. He finished with eight catches for 173 yards and two touchdowns. He would also pick off Rejoice star QB [player_tooltip player_id="157515" first="Chance" last="Wilson"] and take it back for six more. [player_tooltip player_id="53312" first="Mason" last="Manning"] - 2022 Wide Receiver - Cashion 7 Catches | 208 Yards | 2 Touchdowns Cashion had no problems with Woodland in their quarterfinal clash and senior wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id="53312" first="Mason" last="Manning"] had a big night as the Cashion passing attack was once again on fire. The senior finished with seven catches and over 200 yards receiving with two touchdowns. Manning and the Wildcats continue their defense of their state title from a year ago and move on to the semifinals. In what could be the game of the year in Class A, Cashion squares off with Pawhuska for the second straight year.
