This is a class that will go down in the history books as one of the best in state history. We've updated our 2027 rankings to include the Top 200 prospects in the state. We have a ton of individual breakdowns dropping every day to spotlight some of those special prospects. In this breakdown, we're taking a look at the defensive line position and specifically the guys coming off the edge. These five DL prospects are terrorizing opposing offensive lines. Keep it locked in to Prep Redzone Oklahoma for more 2027 individual breakdowns!

Next up on the list is [player_tooltip player_id='913667' first='Kade' last='Barton'], who played at Guthrie last season and will now suit up for Mount St. Mary. Barton brings plenty of versatility and athleticism to the Rockets, and I believe Mount St. Mary has picked up a good one. Barton is active off the edge and does a great job using his length to create leverage against offensive linemen. His long arms allow him to keep blockers off his frame, and he shows good technique as a pass rusher. He also does a nice job chasing plays from the backside, refusing to give up on the football when the offense runs away from him. What makes Barton intriguing is his versatility. Mount St. Mary can move him around along the defensive front and use his length and athleticism to create mismatches for opposing offensive lines. He consistently finds his way into the opponent's backfield, and his film has plenty of highlights that showcase his ability to disrupt the game. Barton also brings the ability to contribute on both sides of the football, giving Mount St. Mary another versatile athlete to work with. With his length, motor, pass-rush ability, and versatility, the Rockets have added a player who should make an immediate impact this season.

The first player out of the gate is [player_tooltip player_id='1831885' first='Damon' last='Davis'], who played at Southeast last season and will now be strapping it up for Millwood during his senior season. After an impressive junior campaign that included 68 total tackles, 26 tackles for loss, 14.5 sacks, and an interception, Davis is a player we are expecting to have a big season. Davis is a long, athletic edge defender who comes off the ball with his hair on fire and immediately puts pressure on opposing offenses. He shows good knockback at the point of attack and can be extremely difficult to block when teams try to run directly at him. His combination of length, strength, and athleticism allows him to create disruption in the backfield. What I really like about Davis is his ability to make plays even when the offense tries to run away from him. He does a good job running the rail, getting flat down the line of scrimmage, and chasing the play from the backside. He has the motor and athletic ability to continue pursuing the football rather than giving up on the play. Davis looks like a natural fit coming off the edge, and with his production and physical skill set, he has the potential to be a major difference-maker for Millwood during his senior season.

Tonkawa defensive lineman [player_tooltip player_id='1839826' first='Kade' last='Ditmore'] is a versatile Class of 2027 athlete who has the ability to impact the game in multiple ways off the edge. Standing at 6'4" and 200 pounds, Ditmore has the frame and athleticism to create problems for opposing offenses. He put together an impressive season with 85 total tackles, 14 quarterback hurries, 12 sacks, 8 pass deflections, and 3 fumble recoveries. Ditmore is a stand-up defensive end who does a great job getting off blocks quickly and creating pressure on the quarterback. His length is a major asset, and even when he doesn't get all the way to the quarterback, he has the ability to get his hands up and disrupt passing lanes. He consistently finds ways to affect the passing game. What really stands out is Ditmore's motor. He continues to chase plays down from the backside and has the athleticism to track down running backs in space. He also shows the ability to drop into coverage and make open-field tackles, giving Tonkawa another versatile piece on defense. With his size, length, motor, and ability to contribute as a pass rusher, run defender, and coverage player, Ditmore is a defensive weapon who should continue to attract attention as he enters his junior season.

Another standout defensive lineman to keep an eye on is [player_tooltip player_id='1035134' first='Rain' last='Ragland'] from Lincoln Christian. Ragland has an impressive get-off and the quickness to line up both inside and off the edge, giving the defense plenty of flexibility with how they can utilize him. Ragland is a disruptive force who consistently finds his way into the opponent's backfield regardless of where he lines up. As a pass rusher, he can win with a powerful speed-to-power move or use his strength to generate pressure with a bull rush. He has the type of relentless pass-rush mentality that makes life difficult for opposing offensive linemen. What really stands out to me is Ragland's physicality at the point of contact. Against the run, he generates good knockback and creates disruption at the line of scrimmage, often forcing the play to develop differently than the offense intended. His combination of quickness, power, technique, and physicality makes Ragland a defensive lineman who can create problems in multiple ways.

Another Jenks Trojan defensive lineman we will be keeping an eye on is [player_tooltip player_id='1694450' first='Orlando' last='Williams']. Williams has picked up several offers heading into his senior season and is a player to watch closely in the trenches. I had the opportunity to evaluate Williams during one of our Friday Film Reviews, and he really impressed me with his overall game. The first thing that stands out is Williams' motor. He plays hard from snap to whistle and consistently finds ways to create disruption in the opponent's backfield. He does a great job running the rail through the offensive line and chasing plays down the line of scrimmage. His get-off is another strength, allowing him to gain an advantage quickly, while his knockback at the point of contact helps him control the line of scrimmage from the start. Williams also shows good technique in both the run and pass game. He understands how to use his hands, maintains good leverage, and continues to work through blocks rather than giving up on the play. I really like the way Williams plays up front, and with his motor, technique, and ability to create havoc, he is definitely a defensive lineman to keep an eye on during his senior season.
