The Rebels featured a nasty one-two punch of Cameron O’Hara and Ryker Campbell this season and the duo put on quite the show in northern Kentucky. Here’s a deeper dive on both.
Cameron O’Hara | Quarterback
Currently standing 5-foot-9 and 140 pounds, O’Hara possesses the arm strength of a quarterback significantly bigger than that size. The impressive righty has a number of plays on his highlights where he rolls out to the right, moves the pocket and creates throwing lanes for himself outside the tackle box. When rolling to his left, he did an advanced job of getting his hips turned towards his target and making an accurate throw. It also goes without saying that with his mobility, he is a dual-threat and has above average speed for a 2026 quarterback. He certainly looks to pass first, but showed time and time again that keeping it himself is not a bad option either.
Ryker Campbell | Athlete
Campbell is a very, very dangerous athlete with the ball in his hands. Simply put, he’s a threat to score for Boone County any time the ball is in his hands. He does anything and everything for the Rebels, including kick and punt returns, lining up as a receiver or in the backfield depending on the in-game situation. Campbell has excellent speed for an 8th grader and has the ability to make people miss with ease. He’s not the tallest kid in the world, but doesn’t need all the size when he all he requires is a small crease to make a play happen. He also displays surprising strength for an athlete of his stature, repeatedly dishing out stiff arms and bouncing off would-be tacklers.
