South View is our next featured program in the Sandhills Region. The Tigers enter the season with plenty of optimism and the pieces in place to surprise a lot of people. While replacing a quarterback is never easy, South View has a talented group of weapons ready to step into larger roles on offense. What may be flying under the radar, however, is a loaded defense packed with playmakers at every level. After finishing 5-6 and reaching the state playoffs a year ago, the Tigers appear poised to take the next step and emerge as one of the region's most dangerous teams in 2026.    The new signal-caller for the Tigers is rising senior [player_tooltip player_id='897126' first='Miles' last='McCallop'], and he could be the missing piece that elevates South View to another level this season. The dynamic dual-threat quarterback brings experience, playmaking ability, and leadership to the offense. McCallop accounted for over 2,000 total yards and nearly 30 total touchdowns last season, showcasing his ability to beat defenses through the air and on the ground. Possessing a strong arm and the athleticism to extend plays with his legs, he gives South View its most complete quarterback threat in years. With a fresh start and a talented supporting cast around him, McCallop appears poised for a breakout campaign and could be in line for a monster senior season.     Cristian Simmons will once again be the centerpiece of the South View offense this season. The rising senior running back is a physically imposing prospect at 6-foot and 200 pounds, combining power, balance, and explosiveness in one package. Simmons rushed for more than 1,300 yards and accounted for 17 total touchdowns last season, establishing himself as one of the most productive backs in the Sandhills Region. What makes him so dangerous is his ability to run through defenders while also possessing the speed to turn any touch into a long touchdown. With another year of experience and an offense expected to create more opportunities, Simmons has his sights set on a massive senior campaign. Don't be surprised if he challenges the 2,000-yard mark and eclipses 20 total touchdowns while leading the Tigers' ground attack.     [player_tooltip player_id='2147047' first='Zakery' last='Turner'] is a name college coaches and recruiting services will likely become much more familiar with over the next few years. The rising sophomore remains one of the most under-the-radar prospects on South View's roster, but the talent is undeniable. After seeing him compete this spring, it was easy to spot the potential. Turner showcases excellent burst off the line of scrimmage, advanced pass-rush moves for his age, and an intensity that stands out every snap. He plays with a noticeable chip on his shoulder and brings a relentless motor to the field.   After transferring to South View late last season, Turner saw limited action while adjusting to a new program. Now, with a full offseason in the Tigers' system, he is positioned to take a major leap forward. The combination of athletic ability, work ethic, and competitive nature gives him a very high ceiling. If his development continues at its current pace, the sky is truly the limit for the young standout.     Armani Jones is quickly developing into one of the premier defensive prospects in the Sandhills Region. The rising junior edge rusher turned heads last season, recording nearly double-digit sacks despite playing in a limited role. His combination of length, athleticism, and natural pass-rushing ability made him a disruptive force whenever he stepped on the field.   Since the end of last season, Jones has dedicated himself to the weight room and speed training, becoming both stronger and faster. Those physical gains are already showing up on the field, and they have elevated his game to another level. With an expanded role in South View's defense, Jones is poised for a breakout campaign and could emerge as one of the top Class of 2028 prospects in the area. Expect opposing offenses to know exactly where Jones lined up every Friday night, because he has the talent to take over games and wreak havoc in the backfield.     Jeremiah Stanley is one-half of the talented Stanley twins and a rising junior linebacker who is beginning to turn heads within the South View program. After moving up late last season, Jeremiah saw limited varsity action, but the potential was easy to spot. Since then, he has attacked the offseason with a purpose, dedicating himself to improving his strength, speed, and overall game.   Standing out with his size, athletic frame, and natural instincts, Stanley possesses all the physical tools coaches look for at the linebacker position. As he continues to gain experience and confidence, his role on the Tigers' defense is expected to grow significantly. With a full offseason of development behind him and an opportunity to compete for more snaps, Jeremiah has all the makings of a breakout player and could become a major contributor for South View this season.     Joshua Stanley is the other half of the talented Stanley twins, and he brings just as much upside to South View's defense. Like his brother Jeremiah, the rising junior has put in the work throughout the offseason and is beginning to emerge as a player to watch. While both possess the athleticism and toughness to play linebacker, Joshua's skill set gives the Tigers additional versatility.   With his explosiveness, physicality, and ability to close on the football, Stanley could see time rushing off the edge or being utilized as a blitzer in pressure packages. He has a knack for creating disruption in the backfield and brings an aggressive mentality every time he steps on the field. As his role continues to expand, Joshua has the potential to become a valuable chess piece for the Tigers' defense, capable of impacting games from multiple positions while forming a dangerous linebacker duo alongside his brother.     Savantis "Champ" Jones has all the makings of a true WR1 for the Tigers this season. The transfer has wasted no time settling into his new program, already building strong chemistry with quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='897126' first='Miles' last='McCallop'] and becoming a natural fit within the offense. His ability to quickly grasp the system has allowed him to emerge as one of South View's most reliable playmakers heading into the season.   At nearly 6-foot-1 with long arms and excellent ball skills, Jones presents a difficult matchup for opposing defensive backs. He is a polished route runner who consistently creates separation and possesses outstanding hands, making him a dependable target in critical situations. Whether working the middle of the field or stretching defenses vertically, Champ has the ability to make explosive plays and change games.   With a talented quarterback delivering him the football and an offense expected to be much more dynamic this season, Jones is primed for a breakout year. Expect him to lead the Tigers' receiving corps and make a strong push for double-digit touchdowns as one of the top pass catchers in the Sandhills Region. Ever since first seeing him as an eighth grader, his work ethic and commitment to improvement have consistently stood out. While many young athletes rely solely on talent, Iglesias has continued to put in the work day after day, and that dedication is beginning to pay off in a big way.   The rising sophomore has undergone a major physical transformation this offseason, adding nearly 25 pounds to his frame while maintaining the explosiveness and athleticism that made him such an intriguing prospect in the first place. That combination of added size and unchanged burst makes him an even more dangerous player heading into the season.   What makes Iglesias so exciting is that his best football is still ahead of him. He continues to develop physically and mentally, and his ceiling remains incredibly high. As he gains more varsity experience, expect his name to become increasingly recognized throughout the region.
