UA Next Camp: Illinois Award Winners

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><em>***Use Code “ScottyB30” for 30% off your subscription***</em></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>On Sunday I attended the Under Armour Next Camp at Naperville North High School.&nbsp; The event featured a ton of talent from the state of Illinois and Midwest prospects in general.&nbsp; We start our look at the Illinois prospect who were Award Winners!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Metro East Young DBs Show Out on Big Stage</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A pair of defenders from southern Illinois made major noise with their play at the UA Next Camp as [player_tooltip player_id='1562266' first='Earnest' last='Winters'] from Cahokia and [player_tooltip player_id='1682049' first='Logan' last='Thompson'] out of Althoff won honors for their play.&nbsp; Winters took home defensive back MVP for all classes and all-states while Thompson earned an invite to another exclusive UA Next Camp.&nbsp; The pair are highly ranked Prep Redzone prospects already as Winters debuted as the top safety in the class of 2029 while Thompson is the #2 athlete and #13 overall prospect in the 2028 class.&nbsp; Both stock's will rise after Sunday.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Elite Pass Catchers Shine</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The best of the best came out at the UA Next Camp.&nbsp; That included [player_tooltip player_id='432197' first='Quentin' last='Burrell'] who is the top wide receiver in the 2027 class.&nbsp; The Mt. Carmel is a smooth back who shined in pass catching drills bringing home running back MVP honors.&nbsp; On the other side it was Loyola's [player_tooltip player_id='2045496' first='Will' last='Mettee'] who was outstanding in coverage and drills throughout the day.&nbsp; Boston College commit won linebacker MVP honors.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Top 10 Defenders Earn Invites to UA All-American Game</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Two of the premier prospects in the state of Illinois landed invites to UA Under Armour Game in January.&nbsp; Mt. Carmel linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='1598821' first='Roman' last='Igwebuike'] is the #1 linebacker in the state.&nbsp; The rangy playmaker received his invite to the UA All-American Game.&nbsp; He looked super smooth in drill work.&nbsp; Notre Dame defensive lineman [player_tooltip player_id='1335315' first='David' last='Folorunsho'] who joined the Irish class last week and now is headed to the UA All-American Game.&nbsp; The #5 player in the class was one of the largest stock risers nationally over the last six months.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
