Midseason Recap: Players That Have Put Themselves on the Radar

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The high school football season is just past the midway point and with playoffs soon approaching in the state of Kansas and I wanted to take this time to cover some players that are having excellent seasons thus far and have caught my attention. </p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="161063" first="Kody" last="Schalk"]: DL / Class of 2022 / Columbus HS / 6’5 / 265lbs</p> <p>Standing at 6’5 and 265lbs Kody has the frame that stands out on Friday nights. He already holds multiple d2 offers from colleges like Pittsburg State and Emporia State. Kody has tallied 47 total tackles, 12 tackles for loss, 4 sacks, 2 forced fumbles and 1 blocked field goal. Kody is a very physical player who dominates offensive lines and is always causing havoc in the backfield. He is averaging 282 passing yards and just under 3 passing touchdowns per game this season. Only a sophomore, Hudson looks like a veteran on the field. He is calm in the pocket and reads the defense well. Austin is a tackling machine and has helped contribute on the defense with a total of 91 tackles and 1 interception so far this season. Averaging 13 tackles a game. Austin is always playing downhill and has a natural feel for the game with great instincts. </p> <p><iframe src="//www.hudl.com/embed/video/3/14797601/61635b1e5cb4010690ae92e4" width="640" height="360" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen"></iframe></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="87702" first="Jesse" last="Greenly"]: RB / Class of 2023 / Atchison HS / 5’10 / 200lbs / 3.5 GPA</p> <p>Jesse has carried the rock a total of 129 times in 7 games this year with 1,201 rushing yards and 23 rushing touchdowns. He’s currently averaging 18.4 carries and 171.5 rushing yards per game and just over 3 rushing touchdowns per game. Jesse is a hard runner who refuses to go down. He currently has 49 receptions for 681 receiving yards and 6 touchdowns in 7 games this season. Zach has the type of speed that allow him to get behind the secondary and be a deep ball threat for his team.
