Malachi Staffney – Northmont – RB – 5’11″ 185 lbs
Staffney is a dynamic player who is going to make explosive plays just about anytime he touches the ball. He doesn’t make many mistakes and he’s a downhill north and south runner. He broke off a 27-yard TD run and got the scoring started. He finished the night with over 100 rushing yards and a TD.
Dj Lamb – Northmont – WR – 5’8″ 160 lbs
Lamb is a speed-freak and they are great at getting him in the open field. He has elite speed and they get the ball in his hands when he is in full stride. He’s going to turn the corner and break a big run if he gets the chance. He did just that this past Friday. He took a jet sweep 60+ yards and jumpstarted the offense. Lamb is a great weapon for Northmont and they’re using his strengths to the best of their abilities.
CJ Hicks CJ Hicks 6'4" | 220 lbs | LB Archbishop Alter | 2022 State OH – Alter – RB – 6’4″ 213 lbs
Hicks is an intriguing player because he has the size and ball skills to play WR but he’s so good with the ball in his hands that they line him up in the backfield. He’s going to get creative with the ball in his hands and he’s going to make splash plays. Alter gave Carroll a beatdown Friday and Hicks got the ball rolling with the first TD of the game.
Jeremy Henry – Northridge – RB – 6’0″ 195 lbs
Henry is a stronger back that they like to use in short-yardage areas and he seems to always get the job done. He’s going to churn out the tough yards and move the chains on a regular basis. He was able to rush for a TD from a few yards out. He had to fight through, what felt like the entire defense, to score but he got it done. Henry is steady and reliable for Northridge and you can never have too many of those types of players.
Michael Elam Jr – Milton-Union – RB – 5’10″ 170 lbs
Friday was the night of tough, gritty, and strong runs. Elam did his best to make the list by shooting through the A-gap and racing for a long TD run to even the game up right when everything felt lost for Milton-Union. Elam is going to churn his legs and fight for every yard possible. Elam also has soft hands and can come out of the backfield and be a weapon in the receiving game.
