2029 Watchlist Breakdown: Passing Game Playmakers Part 1

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>The 2029 class is already flashing intriguing talent in the passing game, with a group of young playmakers beginning to emerge as early standouts. From dynamic receivers to versatile tight ends, these prospects bring a mix of athleticism, ball skills, and upside as they continue to develop.</strong></h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">Scarpati was a three phase playmaker for the Perry freshmen team at WR, DB, and returner. He shows strong ball skills and reliable hands on both sides of the ball. Out of the slot he showed he can attack all three levels of the field as a consistent target with a wide route tree.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Huynh possesses an all around impressive skillset for a freshman. 6'0” 165 lbs. he's got good length already with room and time to grow. He's a physical WR that can fight though contact at the catch point and use his body to release off press coverage. Shows good long speed with the ability to stretch the field and create explosive plays after the catch. Tough to tackle with the ball in his hands, he flashes good contact balance and strength to break tackles. Excellent upside and the ability to be an impact varsity player early in his career.</p>      <p class="text-gray-700">Cohen is a plus athlete with fluid movement skills and good speed. As a route runner, he does a good job mixing up tempo and setting up his routes to create separation. Like his spatial awareness of coverage and where defenders are to establish himself as an open target. Can find the soft spot and settle against zone coverage. Also a reliable outlet for the QB on broken plays. Can extend gains with his speed and lateral agility after the catch.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Schoenecker flashed a lot of early potential as a freshman with the positional flexibility and wide skillset to be an impact player at multiple positions as he develops. Big and well-built body for a freshman at 6'1” 190 lbs. and knows how to use it to his advantage at WR, DB, and even some RB. He runs well showing good straight line speed and a sustained second gear once in space. Strong at the catch point, he makes plays in traffic and possesses a large catch radius that extends outside his framework. His cuts are sudden and sharp showing he can accelerate out of the break creating space underneath or running past coverage deep. Easily tracks and adjusts to ball flight with good body control and hand eye coordination at the catch point. Shifty after the catch, turning routine touches in big gains. Played his freshman season at Arizona College Prep but transferred to Basha for his sophomore year.</p>      <p class="text-gray-700">Kasel possesses the athletic profile and early potential to be a D1 prospect. 6'3” 210 lbs. he's got a great frame with length, size, and growth potential in addition to his natural movement skills. Extremely reliable target with a wide catch radius and the ability to win in contested catch situations. Runs clean routes and is not just an underneath target, shows he can run the seam and push vertically with good speed. Physical after the catch with the strength to run through contact. Powerful blocker both in-line and out in space with the ability to latch on and sustain throughout the play.
