A physical linebacker who can play all over the Mill Creek defense, Wendt is a max-effort defender who can chase the ball-carrier in the open field while being able to put his hand in the ground and attack the quarterback. The 6-foot-2 220-pounder brings hits hard behind his pads and shows strong instincts against the run. One of the region’s top returning linebackers, Wendt was added to the latest rankings after a strong junior season where he made 40 tackles and 13 TFLs with four sacks. He also forced one fumble and broke up two passes in coverage.
The combination of Wendt and Backus in the second level is quietly one of the best duos and centers of a defense in the state. Similar to Backus, Wendt is a high-floor, sure player who plays hard and flashes good instincts. He does that with clear FBS traits as an LB, and I believe he is one of the more well-rounded prospects at the position in the state. Georgia State agrees, evidenced by his commitment to the Panthers.
A hard-hitting linebacker from Hoschton who has decided to stay in the Peach State, Wendt is a sure-tackling linebacker at Mill Creek who has committed to the Georgia State Panthers. The tough, instinctive defender plays hard, hits behind his pads, and was a terrific defender for an always sound and consistent Mill Creek defense. The 6-foot-2 220-pound multi-sport athlete is one of the region’s top returning linebackers after a strong 2025 season where he made 40 tackles, 13 TFLs and four sacks to go along with one forced fumble. Look for this new Georgia State commit to have a giant senior season this fall.
A 2027 linebacker still flying under the radar. Brady Wentz is a versatile defender who can line up on the edge and attack the quarterback or chase down the running back from the middle of the field. The 6’2, 220 pounder plays hard, wraps up consistently, and knows how to make plays in the backfield. He shows good quickness, instincts, does a good job of hitting hard behind his pads as a junior last season for the Mill Creek Hawks. He made 40 tackles, 13 tackles for a loss. And 4 sacks to go along with 6 more quarterback pressures. He shows D1 caliber, talent, and could be one of the region’s best linebackers as a senior in 2026.
