MS All-Star Evals: RB’s
Today we continue our breakdown of the MAC All-Star team by looking at the running back room. The running backs make up possibly the strongest position group, from top to bottom, in the state for the class of 2022.
Branson Robinson Branson Robinson 5'11" | 220 lbs | RB Germantown | 2022 State MS | Germantown
By this point in the season everyone in recruiting circles around the country knows Robinson. Heavily recruited for years, the RB prospect pledged his commitment to Georgia over the summer and has not turned back. Robinson’s Germantown team has struggled to a 3-5 record so far in 2021, but don’t let that cause concern in the running back’s ability. Robinson continues to project as a physical down hill bull-dozing, power back at the next level.
Cameron Young Cameron Young 5'11" | 190 lbs | RB West Point | 2022 State MS | West Point
The Green Wave continues to be a force year in and year out in 5A North and it is due to backs like Young. Young has 600 yards on the ground this season and 6 TD’s to go along. Lean frame with opportunity to bulk up and add more power to his impressive athleticism. Young has the potential to be a real steal for someone on the recruiting trail late in the process.
Kenyon Clay Kenyon Clay 6'0" | 210 lbs | RB Union | 2022 State MS | Union
The 2021 season has not been what Union envisioned so far, but Clay has been the playmaker everyone expected him to be. The Southern Miss commitment was on our 3A Pre-Season Mr. Football watch list and has lived up to the billing. An athlete that simply needs the ball in his hands, Clay has been impressive in every drill situation there is. Watching him grow into a college scheme next year will be fun to witness.
Expect all three of these guys to generate buzz when the Mississippi All-Stars face off with the Alabama squad in December.
