Expert Analysis
Matt DeBary | Prep Redzone Scout
Ranked as the No. 2 linebacker in the state for the 2029 class, Key is a max-effort defender who turned a lot of heads last year as a freshman, tackling everything in sight and showed easy Power Four talent. It’s led to a big spring for him on the recruiting trail as he’s added recent offers from Nebraska and Colorado. He shows great instincts on the run and brings plenty of size for his age at 6-foot-2 205-pounds. He finds his way to the ball-carrier and wraps up properly, securing 55 tackles with five TFLs and one INT to go along with once forced fumble. He’s one of the top young linebackers in the Atlanta area bound for a giant sophomore season in 2026.

A quick-reacting linebacker in metro-Atlanta who really opened a lot of eyes last season as a freshman, Key brings impressive size at 6-foot-2 205-pounds and knows how to chase down the running back. He reacts without thinking, allowing him to dissect plays and attack the ball-carrier. He’s a sure-tackler who sure didn’t play like a first-year player during the 2025 season. The Lithonia defender made 55 tackles and five TFLs with one INT and one forced fumble. He’ll be an easy addition and will see a bump higher in the latest 2029 rankings update.
