The Prep Redzone 7v7 Circuit made their first ever stop in Springfield, Missouri this weekend. It was a hot one for the first ever Route 66 Classic but we saw some excellent football over the course of the two days. In this breakdown, we're taking a look at nine players from the 18U division that stood out to us while we were watching the action this weekend.

Adrian Gonzales - 2027 Wide Receiver/Defensive Back - Warren Academy

Warren Academy had a few different players that stood out to us throughout the weekend. But 2027 wide receiver and defensive back Adrian Gonzales was one of the first ones. During a game on Saturday, Gonzales showed off an insane leaping ability to climb the ladder and snag a jump ball for a touchdown. When it was thrown, we thought it was going out of the back of the end zone. Not with Gonzales on the other side waiting for it. We didn't see every single player but we think his leaping ability was among the best in the tournament.

Baylor Petrie - 2028 Quarterback - Iowa Savages

Iowa Savages 2028 quarterback Baylor Petrie impressed us throughout the day on Saturday. The 18U division had a handful of quarterbacks that seemed to elevate their play throughout the tournament and we would put Petrie in that category. While we caught the Savages in person, the ball rarely hit the turf when Petrie was quarterbacking this squad. He was moving the offense up and down the field and he was a signal caller that took care of the ball, made quick decisions and threw the ball with confidence and accuracy.

Chase Hancock - 2028 Athlete - Arkansas Diamond Boyz

The Arkansas Diamond Boyz made the trip up to Missouri and the 18U squad had a few names that stood out to us during pool play on Saturday. Chase Hancock is a 2028 prospect that we have listed here as an athlete because it didn't seem that there were many things that he wasn't able to do on the football field. Hancock is one of those players where the biggest attribute is his ability to help his team win games. He plays the game with a high IQ and plenty of athleticism to go along with it. He was a standout every time we watched this Arkansas squad.

Daylen Austin-Harvey - 2028 Athlete - 5P

5P 2028 athlete Daylen Austin-Harvey was one of the more impressive athletes that we watched this weekend in Springfield. First off, he played about three different positions while we were watching 5P on Saturday and into bracket play on Sunday. At quarterback, he has a rocket of an arm and in our opinion, it was one of the strongest arms in the tournament. Then he turned around and could play wide receiver and defensive back on defense. We were very impressed with this 2028 prospect and there wasn't a whole lot that he couldn't do.

Montavious Greene - 2027 Defensive Back - Southwest 7

Montavious Greene from Southwest 7 was one of our favorite athletes to watch throughout the weekend. When we first watched the 2027 product take the field for one of Southwest 7's squads, we first noticed what he was able to do at the cornerback position. Greene is an absolute dog on that side of the ball. There were a few instances where he was giving up some size to his opponent but it did not matter. He was a lockdown corner on defense. But he would turn around and make plenty of plays on the offensive side of the ball as well.

Montrell Thompson - 2027 Athlete - Arkansas Diamond Boyz

2027 standout Montrell Thompson was another player from the Arkansas Diamond Boyz that stood out to us throughout the day on Saturday. Thompson is a rangy athlete that does a lot of things very well. Between his overall height, wingspan and leaping ability, he's going to give his quarterback a huge target to throw the ball to and that was apparent throughout pool play on Saturday. Thompson can absolutely go and he was one of the better offensive weapons that we watched in pool play and we're interested to see how high his ceiling is as a prospect.

Rashiek Cole Jr - 2028 Wide Receiver - MO Power

Looking back at our notes from Saturday's games, 2028 wide receiver Rashiek Cole Jr from MO Power was one of the first players that caught our attention. First off, Cole is one of those prospects that is immediately going to get your attention with the size and overall athletic ability. Then we found out that he's just a 2028 prospect and we got more intrigued by his potential moving forward. Cole was one of the top performers on Saturday and he's a big target in the passing game that should be talked about more moving forward.

Tay Tay Jenkins - 2027 Wide Receiver - Warren Academy

Warren Academy 2027 wide receiver Tay Tay Jenkins is no stranger to standing out at Prep Redzone events. He was one of their star players during the Nebraska tournament last year. This year, he stood out once again in Springfield and we're looking forward to seeing him again as Warren Academy looks to defend home turf in the Omaha area this weekend. Jenkins is so incredibly shifty and that makes him a match-up nightmare in 7v7 tournaments. The only thing that stooped him was his cleats as he slipped a couple times. No defender could keep up.

Tristian Birmingham - 2027 Wide Receiver/Defensive Back - Southwest 7

Oklahoma 2027 standout Tristian Birmingham played with Missouri-based Southwest 7 this weekend and once again, he made plays on both sides of the ball. Birmingham has been a star at Prep Redzone 7v7 tournaments in the past and this weekend was no different. Offensively, Birmingham was a big play threat for this offense but he wasn't done there. The 2027 prospect also played defense and continues to show improvement on that side of the ball. We think he's one of the better offensive playmakers in Oklahoma's 2027 class.
