The transfer places him in one of New England’s premier prep programs, where he will compete against top competition and gain significantly more national exposure. At 6’4″ and 280 pounds with a wide, powerful frame, Vega already possesses the prototypical size. His on-field profile, drawn from current scouting observations, highlights a player who wins with functional athleticism and sound technique at the point of attack while showing clear upside for continued growth. Vega consistently wins the initial hand fight and controls defenders through the chest plate. This allows him to anchor against bull rushers in pass pro and create displacement in the run game. Excellent knee bend and foot width give him natural leverage and balance. He rarely gets knocked off his spot laterally and maintains a strong center of gravity when engaged. Explosive first step off the snap. Vega fires out low and hard, covering ground immediately and putting immediate pressure on the defender’s outside shoulder or inside gap. This trait translates well to both offensive and defensive schemes. Consistent and accurate. He lands his hands inside the framework with thumbs up and elbows tight, which allows him to steer and redirect without overextending.
While Vega initiates contact cleanly and controls the first 2–3 seconds of the rep extremely well, he occasionally loses the finish. Blocks can stall out at the whistle instead of driving the defender to the ground or sustaining through the echo of the play.
