As we head into the month of March, the 2026 high school football offseason is in full swing. With that being said, we have begun a new round of rankings updates in the state of Kentucky. The class of 2027 is our latest update to be released with an updated Top 225. Now that those have been released, I will be taking the next week to break them down by position. To kick things off, here are our top quarterbacks in the class of 2027 in the state of Kentucky.

[player_tooltip player_id='400864' first='Landen' last='Holley'] will be the most highly-touted quarterback in the state in his class after announcing that he is transferring from Zephyrhills Christian Academy (FL) to Glasgow for his senior season. Holley is a very accurate passer who has shown the ability to put passes in a spot where only his intended receiver has a chance to catch it. He also has the arm strength to stretch the field and hit his receivers in stride in the deep passing game. Holley currently holds 13 Power 4/Division I offers and I fully expect that list to continue to grow this offseason.

[player_tooltip player_id='1157497' first='Dre'mail' last='Carothers'] is a quarterback who has been generating more and more attention lately. He is coming off an outstanding junior season in which he completed 260/376 passes for 3,753 yards, 46 touchdowns, and six interceptions in 14 games. Carothers is an excellent decision maker as a passer, showing the ability to go through his reads efficiently to find the open receiver instead of forcing passes into coverage. He also throws a very impressive deep ball, using his arm strength to lead his receivers down the field and touch to put the ball where they can make the catch away from opposing defenders. Carothers also ran the ball 30 times for 111 yards and a touchdown as a junior. Dre'mail currently holds multiple Power 4/Division I offers and I expect more to come his way heading into his senior year.

[player_tooltip player_id='374785' first='Zane' last='Johnson'] is having the high school career that a lot of quarterbacks dream of as he just led Trinity to their third consecutive 6A state title, all with him as their starting quarterback. As a junior, Johnson completed 164/233 passes for 2,763 yards, 51 touchdowns, and only three interceptions in 14 games. Johnson has shown the ability to handle pressure, maneuvering in the pocket as necessary to avoid opposing pass rushers while keeping his eyes down the field to find the open receiver. He is also a very accurate passer, showing the ability to use his arm strength to zip passes into tight coverage, giving only his intended receiver a chance to make a play on the ball. Zane also scored one rushing touchdown this past season. Johnson currently holds seven Division I offers and I expect more to come his way as a lot of eyes will be on him this offseason.

[player_tooltip player_id='205472' first='Emmett' last='Queen'] is coming off a very strong junior season in which he completed 150/210 passes for 2,710 yards, 39 touchdowns, and just two interceptions in 13 games. Queen has a cannon for an arm which he uses to lead his receivers down the field with ease in the deep passing game. He has also shown great ball placement ability, leading receivers away from opposing defensive backs where only they have a chance to come away with the ball. Queen also scored six rushing touchdowns as a junior. Emmett currently holds multiple Division I offers and I expect them to continue to pile up for him going in to his senior season.

To wrap up our top five quarterbacks in the class of 2027 in the state of Kentucky, I have [player_tooltip player_id='378831' first='Kade' last='Goodin']. Goodin had another impressive year as a junior, completing 164/276 passes for 2,357 yards, 22 touchdowns, and only three interceptions in nine games. As a passer, Goodin has shown impressive accuracy along with the arm strength to stretch the field with ease. While he is a good passer, he is just as impressive as a ball carrier. Kade has shown the ability to use explosive speed and elusiveness in the open field to tuck the ball and pick up big gains on the ground at any given moment. As a junior, he led his team in rushing with 105 carries for 770 yards and 21 touchdowns. Kade currently holds offers from Bowling Green State, Marshall, Southern Mississippi, Bethune-Cookman, and Eastern Kentucky, and I expect more to come his way as he heads into his senior year.
