Last month, we officially released our first 2029 rankings in the state of Kentucky. Since then, I have broken down the top five players at each position in the class. With that being said, I will he continuing our 2029 rankings coverage by focusing on some players who have caught my attention but are just outside the top five at their position. After already covering the quarterbacks, here are some under the radar running backs to keep an eye on in the class of 2029 in the state of Kentucky.

[player_tooltip player_id='1792035' first='Rishard' last='Green'] showed some promise in his freshman year, carrying the ball 40 times for 268 yards and five touchdowns in 10 games. Green bursts out of his stance with a sense of urgency, exploding through the running lane then using his speed to run away from the defense for big gains. When defenders are able to catch up to him, he has shown the contact balance to break tackles with ease without losing stride. Rishard also returned a kickoff for a touchdown as a freshman and made an impact on defense, recording 34 tackles and a tackle for loss. Green will be a player to keep an eye on as his role continues to grow in the Union County offense moving forward.

[player_tooltip player_id='1791548' first='C.J.' last='Rogers'] played in mainly a reserve/JV role as a freshman but he caught my attention when watching his freshman year film. Rogers has great vision as a ball carrier, showing the ability to find the running lane then hit it in a hurry. Once he gets into the open field, he has shown the elusiveness to make defenders miss and speed to run away from the defense. Rogers will be an intriguing player to keep an eye on as he earns more varsity opportunities.

[player_tooltip player_id='1751484' first='Felix' last='Ortiz'] played a key role in the North Bullitt rushing attack as a freshman, finishing the year with 66 carries for 393 yards and three touchdowns in 10 games. Ortiz is a strong downhill runner who has shown the ability to lower his shoulder and throw impressive stiff arms to break tackles with ease. He has also shown tremendous leg drive which he uses to drag defenders through contact to pick up extra yards. Ortiz also recorded 11 tackles on defense this past season. Felix will be a player worth keeping an eye on as he continues to develop over the next few years.

The final under-the-radar running back who has caught my attention in the class of 2029 in the state of Kentucky is [player_tooltip player_id='1791835' first='Hudson' last='Hatfield']. As a freshman, Hatfield ran the ball 32 times for 154 yards and a touchdown in 10 games. Hatfield is a very elusive ball carrier, showing the ability to make quick cuts in the open field to make defenders miss. He has also shown the burst of speed to run away from the defense for big gains once he hits the second level. Hudson also recorded 12 tackles as a freshman. Hatfield will be a running back to pay close attention to as his role in the Anderson County rushing attack continues to grow.o
