Evans has caught 35 passes for 546 yards and four touchdowns so far this season. Looking at the numbers, you can see he’s made the most out of his opportunities (15.6 yards per catch). As a route runner, he’s more of a strider than a burner, which makes sense for a player his size. He knows how to use his frame and length to his advantage against small receivers. I’m impressed with his ability to play the safety position at a solid level for his team. I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets converted to safety. With a little more weight, you’re looking at someone who could be a solid safety at the next level, with the advantage of knowing how wide receivers think.
