Senior Mykel Ford Mykel Ford 5'11" | 160 lbs | ATH Putnam City | 2025 State OK is an athlete that has been on our radar since his freshman season. This offseason, Ford moved over from Putnam City West, where he was a do-it-all athlete at multiple positions on both sides of the ball. At Putnam City, Ford is going to be able to showcase his talents at wide receiver and on the defensive side of the ball as a defensive back. Ford is another Putnam City prospect that has the attention of D1 colleges and already has a handful of offers. We’ve been impressed with Ford and what he’s been able to do in the last few seasons and now we think that he could end up taking another step up with the Pirates during the 2024 season.

Putnam City West, Ford, is a 2025 athlete that can play multiple positions. His first play on tape is him at quarterback running the read option. Ford kept the ball and took off to the house untouched. He shows good speed and change of direction. Putnam City West does a good job finding different ways in getting Ford the ball. Ford catches the ball with his hands and catching the ball in any direction it is thrown. As a defensive back, he plays physical on making his tackles. One a few clips, he drove on the wide receiver once the ball came out of the quarterbacks hand. I would like to see more clips of him in coverage with his back pedal to truly evaluate him for the 2025 class as an all around defensive back.

And our final versatile athlete is Putnam City West standout Mykel Ford Mykel Ford 5'11" | 160 lbs | ATH Putnam City | 2025 State OK . Coming into the latest ranking evaluation, we had a lean towards the defensive side of the ball for Ford and specifically at cornerback. But after watching his film from his sophomore season, it’s definitely made things more confusing. Ford is an outstanding cornerback and we’re looking forward to seeing more of him playing at that position this spring during the 7v7 season. But on offense, Ford is an absolute playmaker. He just looks incredibly smooth with the ball in his hands and is deceptively fast. He’s one of those prospects that doesn’t look fast but keeps pulling away from defenders. Football guys know what we’re talking about. Ford is definitely a prospect to keep an eye on in the OKC area.
