Soto is a talented small school running back with the ability to put himself firmly on the recruiting radar this season. He runs with a physical edge, consistently breaking arm tackles while displaying the speed to pull away from defenders once he reaches the open field. His combination of power, balance and explosiveness makes him a difficult player to contain, especially when he reaches the second level. Soto’s versatility adds another dimension to his game and a productive season could bring increased attention to both his talent and the depth of Colorado’s small school football landscape.
Soto brings an intriguing blend of size and speed to the Woodland Park backfield and showed promising flashes during his freshman campaign. A taller back with good acceleration, Soto excels when he gets downhill and into space, using his speed to separate from defenders. He finished the season with 577 rushing yards on 92 carries and added seven touchdowns, showing the ability to pick up chunk yardage and being able to score with limited touches. As he continues to develop physically and expand his role, Soto projects as a back capable of handling an increased volume. His upside makes him a clear name to monitor in 2A entering the offseason.
Soto is the 2nd leading rusher amongst the class of 2029. Measuring in at 5’10 165-pounds, Soto carried the rock 92 times for 577 yards with 7 touchdowns. He has very good athletic ability due to very good balance, change of direction, speed, and acceleration. Very good vision. HE’s a mixture of a weaver and bruiser. Very good inside running. Pivots and slides into the open hole or uses his dynamic jump cuts to maneuver into an open gap. Very good outside running. Soto turns the corner and reaches his full speed on the perimeter. He does a great job of gaining yards after contact. Uses his powerful legs to churn forward and run through tacklers. He has good stiff arm and good trucking. Woodland Park has a young stud on their hands.
