If Summeril isn’t on your recruiting board, take an extra look at his film. Measures in at 6’5 215-pounds playing DE/TE. Last season, he had 30 total tackles (20 solo, 10 assisted), 6 TFL, 4 sacks, 1 FF, with 19 receptions for 254 yards and 2 touchdowns. Summeril displays very good athletic ability due to very good speed, balance, jumping, good lateral quickness, and acceleration. Very good initial quickness out of his stance with very good hand speed to engage first. Very good read and reaction speed. Uses his good bend and flexibility to get around tackles and into the backfield. Uses a strong bull rush to power through anchors and collapse the pocket. Very good get off and block shedding. Once he grabs ahold of the ball carrier, they’re stopped. Very good tackling. Another aspect of his game is his patience on RPOs and read options plays. Takes the extra half-second to process what is going on and attacks. He’ll have an even bigger impact going into his junior year!

His size, combined with soft hands, makes him a dependable target across the middle of the field. After securing the catch, Summeril proves difficult to bring down, consistently fighting through contact and generating yards after contact. He was able to haul in 19 receptions for 254 yards and two touchdowns, flashing the ability to contribute as both a receiver and a blocker. He has very good athletic ability due to very good balance, jumping, speed, good change of direction, and acceleration. Good release with good separation quickness. Summeril is another contested catch specialist. Propels himself over the defender to make the catch. Very good ball adjustment and body control paired with very good catching. He’s a YAC machine. Uses his powerful legs to drag multiple defenders for extra yards, trucks through people, or bounces off defenders. As a defender, he stays patient on RPOs and even got a 1 handed sack showing his strength. He’s already impressed me and I’m excited to see how he continues to develop.
