The sophomore class is still young. There is still two more offseasons of evaluating these players. Here are some new guys to know.

[player_tooltip player_id='2053911' first='Kross' last='Avent']

Avent did an amazing job in the 2A state title game vs. Heidelberg. Now, he is getting prepared to enjoy his football offseason while getting ready to play some baseball. Avent is a 6-foot-2, 180-pound kid with an amazing arm. He came out to our showcase in Jackson and showed us that he is a guy to know.

[player_tooltip player_id='2079668' first='Tripp' last='Smith']

Smith is another quarterback who made his way to our radar. Smith is a guy from Madison Central who helped lead their team to a nice place this season. We also got ours on him at our showcase this past weekend. Smith is a dude at the quarterback position. He was out there putting the football on the money for the receivers who showed up.

[player_tooltip player_id='1092246' first='Joshua' last='Parker']

Parker is an amazing football player who turns heads every time that he steps on the field. Parker is a player from Jackson Prep who did an amazing job at our showcase this past weekend. He ran a 4.39 in the 40-yard dash. We also noticed that he is a really good route runner with incredible ball skills. Parker can leave cornerbacks in their tracks right at the line no matter if it is dealing with speed or him using his twitch. This guy is a dude.

[player_tooltip player_id='1421312' first='Kentrell' last='Haynes']

Haynes stepped up for Louisville this past season. That is saying a lot for a sophomore receiver who was up against a lot of talent at his school. We think that Haynes is going to continue to see his stock rise. There are not many players who have the natural route running ability that he has. He has so much grace on the football field. Haynes is able to create a big target for quarterbacks and it is not due to his size. He knows how to make a lot of space to allow the quarterbacks to have a big zone to complete passes.

[player_tooltip player_id='1605221' first='Kingston' last='Branham']

Branham is a player from West Point who made a lot of plays happen for his team this season. He is another guy who started impressing us as a junior varsity player. Branham is a hard runner who knows how to get yards behind those strong legs. He also has enough speed to stretch the football field.

[player_tooltip player_id='1581405' first='Bryson' last='Barnes']

Barnes is a running back from Hattiesburg who started to see some playing time for his team this season. He is a 5-foot-7, 160-pound young man who is small now, but he has a big heart. Barnes is a shifty running back with good skills out of the backfield. Coaches know that he is a player with soft hands. We are going to be sure to keep up with him.
