I wrote back in January that Spencer had the look of a 2026 breakout candidate following a sophomore season during which he flashed a significant ceiling. Nothing has changed in that regard, and the talented St. Albert junior checked is as the No. 36 overall player and second-ranked tight end in the recent Prep Redzone Iowa Class of 2028 rankings update. Spencer is a physically advanced athlete with the potential to grow into a multi-faceted prospect for the next level at the position. He caught six passes for 72 yards with four of those grabs resulting in touchdowns last year. There’s also a path to stardom on defense. Seven of his 15.0 tackles were solo stops. He had a pair of tackles for loss. His 10th-grade highlight video impresses. From the H-Back spot, Spencer creates matchup problems with his size and speed. He’s tough to take down when he gets a head of steam rolling and is a favorable target in the red zone. Potential as an edge rusher also pops out with his burst and straight-line speed.
