We'll break down every quarterfinal match-up over the next few days. Continuing right now with Class 3A. We'll have a break down on each match-up, along with a more in-depth look at the marquee match-up of the week. Keep it locked in to Prep Redzone Oklahoma for more quarterfinal previews!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>#4 HOLLAND HALL (10-1) AT #2 SULPHUR (11-0) (MARQUEE MATCH-UP)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>It's #2 Sulphur hosting #4 Holland Hall and that is our marquee match-up in Class 3A this week as you have two teams with a combined record of 21-1 squaring off with a semifinal appearance on the line. It doesn't get much better than that. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Dutch are back in the 3A state championship mix after a few years where they were playoff teams but not true contenders. They won back to back championships in 2020 and 2021 and are looking to make it back to Edmond this season. Holland Hall definitely exceeded our preseason expectations this season, going 9-1 in the regular season with the only loss coming to defending champion Lincoln Christian in district play. Senior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1732959' first='Trey' last='Burleson'] backed up last season's breakout season with another stellar performance this year. But there is no doubt that Burleson and the Dutch offense will have their work cut out for them against an aggressive Sulphur defense. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Sulphur is looking to make it back to Edmond after finishing as runner up last season. If they capture the gold ball, they'll also complete the perfect season. Whenever you're talking about the Bulldogs, the conversation has to start with senior [player_tooltip player_id='1569774' first='Maddax' last='Mobly'] for the impact he can have on both sides of the ball. If you look at Sulphur's biggest games this season, you'll see two things in common. First, you see a Sulphur victory. Second, you see Mobly being arguably the best player on the field. We've said it all season how it feels like Sulphur and Lincoln Christian are on a one-way crash course for a state title rematch. Mobly and the Bulldogs need two more wins in order to make that happen. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>#9 INOLA (9-2) AT #3 HERITAGE HALL (10-1)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Heritage Hall is once again back in the quarterfinals and one win away from another potential showdown with Lincoln Christian. Heritage Hall's only loss this season was back in September to the Bulldogs. The Chargers haven't lost since and they dominated their district once again. Heritage Hall is desperate to turn things around against Lincoln but they have to take care of Inola first. And for Inola, they have certainly been the surprise team of the year in Class 3A. And the Longhorns have the chance to be an exciting team to watch moving forward. You can make the argument that one of their best players is just a freshman. Inola got their first playoff win since 1994 and now they're hungry for more.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>KINGFISHER (8-3) AT #1 LINCOLN CHRISTIAN (11-0)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Kingfisher goes on the road to face top-ranked Lincoln Christian on Friday night. The Yellowjackets have been one of the more fun teams to watch in Class 3A this season. They have a high-scoring offense and they've found themselves in some shootouts, including last week's first round win over Lone Grove. But they are playing an entirely different animal on Friday. Lincoln Christian has won 39 consecutive games. This season, they've shut out eight opponents and they haven't given up a touchdown in over two months. They've won the last two state championships and certainly look like the favorite to win another one. All signs point to another dominant Lincoln Christian win. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>#6 PERKINS-TRYON (8-3) AT #5 CASCIA HALL (9-2)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>It's one of the more intriguing quarterfinal match-ups this week as #5 Cascia Hall hosts #6 Perkins-Tryon. Both teams have spent plenty of time in the top five this season. Both teams have also had unexpected setbacks. Now they square off. Cascia Hall is out for redemption after being upset in the first round of the playoffs last season. After somewhat of a slow start to the year, the Commandos have been playing outstanding football in the last month. Perkins-Tryon is in a similar boat where when it's been good, it's been very good. This is also a clash of styles as Perkins-Tryon has a terrific running game while Cascia Hall does most of their damage with the passing game. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
