There are 12 undefeated teams remaining with Spalding leading the pack with 4 wins. This week the Cavaliers will be in a huge out of conference match up against WCAC power Gonzaga(DC). This game is a statement game for the Cavs, if they take down the WCAC defending champs they will be a favorite for a MIAA championship run. It will be a tough task for the Cavs as the Zaga Eagles come off of their first loss since 2019. Calvert Hall is not too far behind with an undefeated 3-0 record. The cardinals are becoming a force as they build momentum week after week. The McDonogh Eagles hold on to their top 10 ranking despite their 1-2 record. #9 McDonogh(1-2) and #22 St. Mary’s Ryken(1-3) are the only teams in the Top 25 below .500. Both teams have tough opponents in week 4, #9 McDonogh vs #2 La Salle(Pa.) , #22 St. Mary’s Ryken vs #14 Bishop McNamara. These games will shake up the polls going into week 5.
Week 4 has two more Top 25 games in store for us, #7 Good Counsel vs. #8 MSJ, and #21 Loyola vs. #23 Georgetown Prep, who dropped from the #17 spot. #16 Flowers, and #11 Liganore both survived their Top 25 games last week, but Flowers actually drops one spot from #15 to #16, while Liganore jumps two spots from #13 to #11.
