Tylan Alejos Tylan Alejos 5'9" | 200 lbs | RB Topeka High | 2022 State KS , 5-foot-9, 190 pound running back, Topeka High, 2022:
Alejos is touching the ball on nearly every offensive play for the Trojans, running with determination against stacked fronts. He struggled to accumulate 155 yards in a week 2 loss at Washburn Rural. But he finally was able to show his stuff against Emporia in the third contest. The bowling ball back galloped for 223 yards and three scores while adding another on a 15-yard reception. He accounted for all four of the Trojans’ scores.
Jack Chisham, 5-foot-11, 150 pound running back, Hayden, 2022:
The veteran back gave the Wildcats the jolt they needed to bounce back from a frustrating loss to Seaman. Against Topeka West, Chisham scored on runs of 2 and 69 to give Hayden a lead that they held the rest of the way. Chisham finished with 182 yards on 14 carries.
Austin Fager, 5-foot-10, 175 pound linebacker, Washburn Rural 2022:
In week two, Fager had the kind of night you’ll never forget, in part due to great scouting by the coaching staff. The linebacker exploited a weakness in the Topeka High punt protection to block three punts, one of which he snatched out of the air and returned for a score.
TJ Jones, 5-foot-3, 145 pounds, running back, Junction City, 2023:
Jones’ size listed in the program makes him sound like a small guy. But this guy is not small. Not in size, not in heart, and not in the impact he has on the game. He blasts through tackles and bursts for big gains from the Blue Jay backfield, where he is the featured back amongst several other talented ball carriers. He pounded out 189 yards, including a 17-yard breakaway, on 25 carries in a come-from-behind win over a tough Seaman team.
Gavin Wilhelm, 6-foot, 160 pounds, kicker, Seaman, 2022:
For three quarters against Junction City Friday night, Wilhelm was the star. He booted three field goals – 18, 25 and 32-yarders – to give Seaman a 9-0 advantage that nearly held up.
