Aiden Brunkhorst – Genoa – QB – 6’3″ 180 lbs
Brunkhorst looked fantastic on Friday. He was showing off his big arm and was letting it rip. He can throw the ball 50-yards with ease. He’s able to stand in the pocket easily and make his reads and put the ball where it needed to be. He didn’t miss throws very often and was putting the ball in the right spot every time he dropped back. Brunkhorst was dialed in and dealing Friday and Genoa got a tough fought win on the road.
Merced Diaz – Genoa – WR – 5’10″ 165 lbs
Diaz was the benefactor of Brunkhorst’s big arm, but Diaz deserves credit. He was getting open and making guys miss after the catch. He had two touchdowns and both showed off his different skill sets. The first one he laid out in the endzone and made a diving grab. On his second touchdown, he went over the middle over the field, broke a tackle, and raced down the field for a 94-yard touchdown run.
Tywuan Clark – Catholic Central – QB – 6’2″ 180 lbs
Clark led Catholic Central to a beatdown over Findlay. It was supposed to be an intriguing matchup with 2 great programs, but Clark put on a clinic and the game got out of hand early. Clark is a lefty and a great runner. 2 things defenses need to adjust to and Findlay couldn’t. Clark delivered mainly strikes all night and different types of throws. The very first drive of the game Clark dropped a dime down the field for a touchdown. The next few drives had similar results before Findlay realized how much trouble they were in.
Sam Lee – Catholic Central – WR – 6’6″ 210 lbs
Yes, Clark was making great throws and having himself a day, but Sam Lee helped pour in on. Lee was the benefactor of the first touchdown where he just went up and plucked it out of the air over the top of the defender. Lee used his size and strength all night positioning for jump balls and continuously winning them. It was a great night for those two and Lee could see his college recruitment take off. He has great size so it’s likely someone is going to take a shot on him and see if he can develop at the next level.
Jayden Gibson Jayden Gibson 6'2" | 200 lbs | LB Toledo Whitmer | 2022 OH – Whitmer – RB – 6’2″ 200 lbs
Gibson is going to keep making plays every week. He’s a great athlete and a great size already. Friday, he was able to bully his way for one of the hardest fought touchdown runs you will see. He squared up, lowered his shoulders, and kept his legs churning as he kept moving the pile for a score. Whitmer kept feeding him and he kept delivering while moving the chains. He’s also light on his feet and decent out of the backfield. It was another great performance for Gibson.
