Butler is an exceptional off the ball linebacker who excels at fitting the run. He can do it all from the Will position: set the edge to force runners back inside, disguise blitzes to sack passers or force pressure, active eyes in coverage that lead to interceptions, and read keys to beat blockers at the point of attack. Likewise, he does a great job of not over scraping, remaining in position to play the cut back on the backside of runs. It is impressive to see how quickly he can react to pulling guards or lead blockers to wrong arm their blocks or defeat them to make tackles for a loss. Anticipate Butler’s recruitment heating up throughout his junior campaign.

A promising young linebacker in South Georgia playing sound, consistent football right now, Butler is a sure-tackling sophomore who has been one of the more productive defenders in the region through the first two months of the season. The two-way standout brings a 5-foot-11 205-pound frame and does a good job of finding his way to the ball-carrier. He’s made 54 tackles this season with seven TFLs, four sacks and one forced fumble. He’s one of the top defenders on the Coffee defense and is playing really well for someone in year two. Look for Butler to continue improving more and more over the next two years as he pushed for All-Region status at the end of the 2025 regular season.
