Alabama Check-In: 6 Productive 2028 Skill Players

I am continuing to dive a little deeper into Alabama this week. Here is a look at some productive sophomore playmakers with plenty of upside.    Can't find listed size, but I would imagine he is around 5'8 170 with room to grow, especially in his lower body. Runs with good patience and vision. Stays squared to running lanes and is a one-cut style runner to jump across faces. Breakaway speed is still developing as his stride is longer, but he has time to tighten that up. He runs hard and willingly greets contact. He wins with instincts and vision right now, which is a plus as his traits continue to come along.     Gonzalez is a smaller, scrappier receiver who contributes at each level. He plays better down the field than most receivers at his size. He is explosive at the top of his routes and unpredictable, helping him create space and generate wide-open opportunities back towards the QB. His foot quickness is impressive, helping him jump across the faces of defenders and create yards. Developing straight away speed is the next step in his development.     Ballard is an intriguing rare-trait prospect with blue-chipper potential. He is a fluid athlete at 6'5 210, skating across the field and bringing over verticality from the hardwood. He might project out long-term as a tight end since he is already 210 with room to get even bigger. Right now, he is a clear X prototype and a mismatch on the outside. He isn't just big, he is fluid and an impressive athlete vertically with a basketball background. He holds early FBS offers and should generate future P4 buzz.     Voce is a small school receiver with some identified upside from me. He is listed at 6'1 165 and is still raw athletically. He has room to get bigger, but he is proportional and should carry his weight well as he grows. He is still adding some juice athletically, but he can sink his hips and shift his weight, which leads me to believe he will develop well as an athlete. His body control and contested catch ability are impressive for his size. Voce is underrated, but productive, and someone who can at least generate small school recruiting attention down the line with proper exposure.     Hardaway is a long, rangy S prospect with elite production against the ball and plenty of physical upside left in the tank. He plays centerfield well, playing routes well vertically and when coming downhill. As a tackler, he can pursue across the field and isn't afraid to strike. Ball production translates, and it will be especially interesting to track Hardaway as he grows athletically. Underrated, but not for long candidate.     Thomas is another productive DB against the ball who doubles as a good returner. He is listed at 6'0 160, falling into adequate size brackets for college programs once he adds weight, which he has room to do. He is still growing into his stride, but he is a fluid basketball athlete with plenty of range at safety and enough playmaking ability after the catch. Thomas is big, productive, and has a basketball background. All inputs that could eventually spit out a well-rounded prospect traits-wise down the line.
