Under Bill Blankenship, Owasso has consistently been one of the most talented teams in the state. It’s shown in the win’s they’ve racked up and players he’s sent to college. This year is no different, as they’re loaded with future collegiate standouts. These five were just a few of the Rams that made “wow” plays all game long.

Each week it’ll likely be a different speedy weapon exploding for the Rams. This time it was the senior Carney. One of his touchdowns was him showing good strength and acceleration on a WR screen. Which he eluded a handful of defenders to score. The other was more impressive as he showed his long speed. He turned what should’ve been a routine 10-15 yard grab into a 57 yard TD. Two defenders had good angles on him, but they never made up any ground. Carney is the type of runner that makes it look smooth while eating up yards in the blink of an eye.

The talented junior didn’t have as many standout plays as Carney’s explosive first half. But he still found the endzone twice. For the first one, he burned single coverage for a 46 yard score. On his other score, he showed impressive body control by hauling it in at the back of the endzone. In between those scores, Adams had more examples of his body control and explosiveness that makes him a Power 5 recruit. He excels in short spaces as he has a great combination of strength and acceleration. Opposing DBs are rarely able to tackle him in one vs one situations, making him a YAC monster.

Yet another explosive weapon for the Rams was the junior tailback and return specialist. Neeley bobbled a second half kickoff. But it worked to his advantage as he jetted up the field quickly returning it to the 25, where he was pulled down by the last man that had a chance. In the fourth quarter he made good on that breakaway speed, as this time he broke the arm tackle and went 74 yards for the score. On a term full of burners, Neeley is among the fastest.

. Not only did he not back down from the challenge, he won a few rounds against the bigger WR. Ramsey is another player with good quickness and explosion. Those traits allow him to break on passes and force PBUs. While he also showed a willingness to get downhill and attack runners. Early in the game, he set the tone by reading a WR screen, and delivering the wood for a 3 yard loss. Ramsey plays the game with an aggressiveness that backs up the DB swagger he flies around with.
Chris McClellan

In the first half, Santa Fe’s running game went nowhere. More often than not, McClellan was the culprit. He was often setting the edge or exploding into the backfield for multiple first half TFLs. The elite talent was on display in the first half. The August heat likely didn’t help, but he did look a step slower as the game wore on. Still, he’s quick off the ball and with his strong frame he’ll be a wrecking ball all fall for the Rams. McClellan is another must watch player, which is evident by the list of Power 5 programs recruiting him.
