<p>The Cougars finally broke through on the scoreboard in the third quarter, then rattled off three fourth-quarter touchdowns to erase a 16-point deficit and claim a 27-23 defeat of Neville.</p>

<p>The Cougars couldn't quite get clicking during a scoreless first half, but the senior quarterback and his wide receivers caught absolute fire in the second half to complete a thrilling comeback for a big early-season win. The Virginia Tech was effective with his legs throughout the night and made a slew of highlight-reel throws in the second half, including four touchdowns, whether on the move or dropping back and roping well-placed balls downfield to a handful of different targets. </p>

<p>Bergeron spread the ball around to several targets, including touchdowns to senior running back Carter Melancon, Breaux, Quoyeser and Meaux and other big plays to Tammariello. Breaux is a tall target who has been a go-to early in the season and followed up a huge Week 3 with a leaping grab in tight coverage in the end zone about the highlights. Tammariello's night included a highlight-reel, diving catch down the sideline. And Meaux hauled in the game-winning catch-and-run late.</p>

<p><strong>Hayden Hemard — 6-2, 215 EDGE — St. Thomas More (2027)</strong></p>

<p>The junior defensive end was among the Cougars who managed to get into the backfield to apply some pressure, including a third-down sack in the third quarter, and got his hands up and in a passing lane in the final seconds to deflect a pass that sophomore linebacker <strong>Heath Hernandez</strong> corralled for a win-sealing interception.</p>

<p>The sophomore linebacker lived around the ball all night with reportedly well over 20 tackles, including an early forced fumble that <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='710984' first='Austin' last='Pellerin']</strong> hopped on for a recovery.</p>

<p>The North Carolina-committed safety unloaded a couple of the explosive hits for which he's known and also got his hands on a few passes throughout the contest, including a couple near-interceptions late. </p>
