Background: Mendez is another 2028 WR on this Connetquot squad who has the potential to make noise as a playmaker. He is a versatile athlete who can play on both sides of the ball showing reps at DB as well.
Measurables: Mendez, shows a solid frame for a prospect. He shows solid height at 5’10”. His weight is where he should look to improve. His minimum weight at the end of hight school is around the 180-Pound mark, where he should look to reach.
Evaluation: Mendez is a true scheme receiver and can make plays across the field. I like his ability to cut up field, and sell routes, leading to his wide open catches. He can make elite contortion catches, and shows good hands racking up catches at all heights. He has elite footwork, and reaches his top speed quickly making it hard to tackle him in space. Off the line, he has good footwork, and can fight with his hands and his footwork off the line. Making sharper cuts at the top of his routes along with utilizing his speed can improve separation at the POA.

was a solid receiving option. I thought that he ran well – both straight line and his routes. As such, any movement Mendez made was a subtle one on his end, but more dramatic for the defenders to recover from. Moreover, he ran corners tight.
