He led his team in receiving with 80 receptions (school single-season record) for 1,239 yards and 21 touchdowns in 12 games. Matchem is a very skilled route runner, using smooth breaks in his routes to create separation with ease. He also has impressive speed which he uses to pose as a threat in the deep passing game and to pick up yards after the catch. Jakari also made an impact on defense as a sophomore, recording 24 tackles and three interceptions (tied for team lead). Matchem doesn’t hold any offers yet but I wouldn’t be surprised to see some come his way soon as he is a Division I caliber wide receiver prospect.
