Though verticality is the core of his game, Samples shows natural transition skills when working the quick game and getting upfield. He has the speed to dictate angles, the acceleration to exploit gaps, and the elusiveness to make the most of his touches in space.

Samples is built to threaten defenses vertically with elite speed and explosiveness, reportedly clocking near 22 MPH. His 41 receptions for 831 yards and 5 touchdowns highlight his efficiency as a big-play weapon. As a north-and-south route runner, he consistently creates immediate separation on go routes and posts, doing much of the work early with clean, explosive releases at the line of scrimmage. Once the ball is secured, he becomes a dynamic RAC threat—especially when catching on the move—and adds value as a return option.
