Powell (2-0) at William Blount (3-0)

- It's been a great start to the 2025 season for William Blount but now they host their best competition yet in Powell, who brings a physical and stout defense to town that should provide a strong test for the Govs high potent offensive attack. Senior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1582354' first='Jaxon' last='Dabrowski'] has been stellar so far, putting up big numbers while being a strong leader but he will need to find ways of getting rid of the ball early with [player_tooltip player_id='1154536' first='Iverson' last='Garcia'] and others chasing him down. I do the Govs offense and their ability to move the ball and score as the biggest key to this game. Powell has the defense to go on the road and win, so William Blount must be prepared with a strong offensive game plan to pull this game out.

#1 McCallie (3-0) at #10 Ensworth (2-1)

- The home Tigers have a big test and opportunity on their hands this Friday as they host our #1 Big School team in the state, McCallie. The Blue Tornado come to town undefeated and playing good football with both sides of the ball clicking at a high level. Their offense, led by [player_tooltip player_id='1467540' first='Elliott' last='Drapeau'] and [player_tooltip player_id='986024' first='Keeyshawn' last='Tabuteau'], has been nearly unstoppable this season. The defense has been stellar as well, especially the play from [player_tooltip player_id='212419' first='Cooper' last='Gentle']. Ensworth will need their defense to play above their heads to win this game along with [player_tooltip player_id='1153810' first='Taylor' last='Hasselbeck'] spinning the ball with major confidence. I think the home Tigers have a shot here but it will be tough to knock off a very talented McCallie team.

#1 Westview (2-0) at #14 Obion Co. (3-0)

- If Obion Co. wants to compete for championships, winning games like this are a must. The Rebels have a massive opportunity on their hands Friday as they host Westview, our #1 Small School team in the state that brings college talent to town. Led by sophomore quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='424594' first='Graham' last='Simpson'] and a highly skilled receiver group, the Chargers offense has been hard to stop due to their balance and explosive game play. The Obion Co. defense has a tough challenge on their but they have played well thus far, led by [player_tooltip player_id='1584097' first='Morgan' last='Carpenter'], who currently leads the state in tackles. I do like the Chargers in this matchup but I'm very interested to see how the Rebels perform and if they present a challenge for Westview.

#21 Blackman (3-0) at Nolensville (2-1)

- Coming off a big road win over cross town rival Riverdale, the Blaze stay on the road this week against a Nolensville team that pushed their record to 2-1 after a win last week against Overton. Blackman goes into this game with more overall talent but it's still a road game, so anything can happen. The Blaze have done enough on offense to get by but it's their defense that has led to their 3-0 start. Finding a way of slowing down Knights receiver [player_tooltip player_id='540040' first='Oliver' last='Bender'] is a key objective but Blackman has a talented secondary with [player_tooltip player_id='1589509' first='A'Darien' last='Davis'], [player_tooltip player_id='1614217' first='Jaden' last='Lark'] and others to potentially get the job done. The road team can't sleepwalk this week or an upset by the hands of Nolensville could happen but I like Blackman's chances.

Dobyns-Bennett (3-0) at #13 Oak Ridge (3-0)

- We have a battle of East Tennessee undefeated teams here that have played good football up to this point but only one squad can leave this contest with their first loss of the season. The road Indians are built in the trenches with their rushing attack being the means of success. The Wildcats have been solid on defense but not spectacular so far, however they have some dudes like Tobja Walters that can make a difference in this game. I expect Oak Ridge to score points but if their defense can slow down the Indians run game, I like their chances of moving to 4-0. We can't sleep on Dobyns-Bennett however because they play a physical brand of football that could keep them in this game and be there in the end to potentially win.

Anderson Co. (1-1) at Heritage (2-0)

- Some people may not see this matchup as a top game in “Week Four” but I do and I think the home team could come out the victor. Anderson Co. comes to town with a talented ball club that can be explosive on offense but the Mountaineers should counteract that with a salty defense that has played well this season. Linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='1586187' first='Thomas' last='Bowers'] has been a force this year and his efforts will be needed to slow down [player_tooltip player_id='806042' first='Jayzon' last='Thompson'] and the Mavs run game. The Mountaineers defense and their play against the Mavs offense will be key to them pulling out this win. Anderson Co. comes into the matchup as the favorite and I like their chances but you can't sleep on Heritage and their surging program that needs a win like this to be put on the map as a team to watch moving forward.

Christian Brothers (2-1) at #18 MBA (2-0)

- Coming off a close, hard fought loss last week, Christian Brothers is looking to bounce back versus a good MBA team that had their “Week Three” game cancelled due to weather. Both teams are itching to get back on the field and continue progressing as both have hard schedules ahead of them. What I see here between the Purple Wave and the Big Red is a potential defensive affair. Both these teams are strong defensively, so whoever wins the field position and turnover battle should come out on top. Quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='688833' first='Hugh' last='Price'] with receivers [player_tooltip player_id='1691433' first='Carter' last='Kilburg'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1568969' first='Warner' last='Hart'] may prove to be difference makers in this matchup against an undersized Christian Brothers secondary.

Rhea Co. (3-0) at Soddy Daisy (3-0)

- Two of the biggest surprises so far from the 2025 season are these two East Tennessee teams that have faced some battles already but remain undefeated going into this matchup. You have two runs based teams here that look to their run game to lead the way along with defenses that play physical and well in the trenches. The Rhea Co. offense versus the Trojans defense is the matchup I'm watching in this game. Senior running back Mason Ford will be someone that [player_tooltip player_id='1134345' first='Blaine' last='Yother'] and the Soddy Daisy front seven will be eyeing to stop or keep in-check. Whichever team is allowed to run the ball at will while also winning the turnover battle, should be the squad that takes the victory and stays undefeated.

Dyer Co. (3-0) at Crockett Co. (3-0)

- It's been a great start to the season for Crockett Co. but they take on their best opponent yet in what could be an exciting, high scoring game that doesn't settle till the very end. Dyer Co. comes to town looking to remain undefeated and they bring a potent offense to town that should test the Cavaliers defense. What Crockett Co. has in return is a high scoring offense as well and a secondary, led by seniors Amarion Hobson, Demarrian Pickens and junior Ian Greenberg that bring ball hawk skills to the field. This is a very interesting matchup of two similar teams. You have to lean in favor of the home team and Crockett Co. but the Choctaws have a very talented roster that can certainly take this matchup and keep their undefeated record alive.

Station Camp (3-0) at Springfield (3-0)

- A lot of attention has been put on Springfield by the local media and it's warranted but they must be prepared for Station Camp, who comes into this matchup undefeated and ready for a potential battle. The home Yellow Jackets are highly talented, led by senior [player_tooltip player_id='1134310' first='Jaidon' last='Hurst'] and underclassmen [player_tooltip player_id='1588080' first='Kason' last='Woodson'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1193376' first='Jermaine' last='Cobbins'] that can present problems for the Bison but I think they will be ready for the challenge. Station Camp has a veteran quarterback in [player_tooltip player_id='1535793' first='Colton' last='Overbey'] that has played a lot of football and won't be phased by the road atmosphere. The key to watch is the Bison defense with [player_tooltip player_id='1261313' first='Ryland' last='Keefe'] against an athletic Springfield offense. If the road team can use a defensive recipe to slow up the Yellow Jackets, we could have an upset on our hands.
