Even though the falcons fell short in overtime losing 44 to 38, Newberry played his heart out and left it all on the football field. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>His deep ball accuracy is pretty impressive and lives up to his name "Cash", putting the football right on the money. Falling just short off the "W" Rover still put on a show last Friday night. His downfield speed is so fun to watch, it also helps that Rover stands a healthy 6'3 175 pounds and a standout basketball player. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Rover is a downfield nightmare for a secondary, even if you manage to match his blazing speed, Joelle can climb the ladder and high point the ball with the best of them. Last Friday night the Vikings fell just short of a defensive battle with the Marshfield Blue Jays 7 to 6. Smith was a big reason the Vikings only let Marshfield touch the endzone once. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Smith has a lightning fast get-off regularly being the first defensive lineman off the line. He reacts very fast and seems to always know where the ball is going. Admittedly I was pretty unfamiliar with Westhoff before this season, and he did all the right things in week one to make everyone's head turn. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>What's even more impressive is the kid is only a sophomore, so we have the pleasure of watching Westhoff develop for the next three years.
