Westerkamp is a dual varsity sport athlete playing lacrosse and football. Measures in at 5’10 185-pounds. Last season, he had 44 total tackles (30 solo, 14 assisted), 3 TFL, 3 sacks, 1 FF, and 1 FF. Westerkamp has good athletic ability due to his very good lateral quickness, good acceleration, speed, and balance. Good range from sideline to sideline or into his zone responsibility. Very good read and reaction speed. Trusts what he sees and attacks. Westerkamp does a great job blitzing with his explosive take off speed. Plugs gaps and gets into the backfield for the TFL. Very good tackling. Uses his strength to wrap up the ball carrier not giving them any room for extra yards. With a good season under his belt, I’m excited to see how he continues to grow as a player.
