Week 0: Who Had the Best Performances in Our Thursday Slate?

What an AWESOME start to the season yesterday!   With several huge matchups occurring all across the state, we wanted to break down who had the top performances last night.   It's hard not to be excited after what we saw from these prospects last night. Let's dive in:    [player_tooltip player_id='1651353' first='Kade' last='Clemmons'] was one of my favorite QBs of the offseason, and just helped lead Muscle Shoals to a huge 24-6 win over Gadsden City.   “Clemmons<a href="https://prepredzone.com/player/kade-clemmons/"></a> is a talented pocket passer who can rip the ball all over the field. He throws with a ton of velocity, has impressive touch underneath his passes downfield, and does a great job hitting his WRs in stride for big plays.   I'm really impressed with Clemmons' ability to make plays under pressure. He stands tall in the pocket and plays with a ton of confidence, consistently delivering passes through contact and evading pass rushers to make some tough throws on the move.“   Clemmons had a great night passing the ball, completing multiple passes downfield for huge gains/scoring plays. I'm excited to see how his senior year continues. Johnson does a great job using his size and athleticism to set the edge- he consistently beats OTs to meet the ball carrier at or behind the line of scrimmage, resulting in a ton of run stops up front.   Johnson is just as dominant as a pass rusher- he's quick off the snap, has a deep bag of rush moves, and can fly by OTs to generate pressure and rack up sacks on opposing quarterbacks.“   Johnson was constantly in the backfield last night, racking up 2 sacks, 3 TFLs, 3 tackles, and 5 QB hurries.   Johnson took over this game last night against a really talented Gadsden City team. He and Muscle Shoals should be on everyone's radar moving forward. He's quick on his feet, plays with great instincts, and uses his hands to make plays on the ball.   Offensively, Holmes thrives as a rusher/receiver by using his vision and speed. He's great at following blocks, can make defenders miss, and has top-end athleticism he uses to create huge plays both on the ground and out in the secondary.“   Holmes had an INSANE start to the season- hauling in 9 receptions for 141 yards and one TD on offense and 3 INTs (one returned for 6) on defense.   Take a look at one of Holmes' picks last night- he went off: (credit to @SouthernCharmSp)   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/SouthernCharmSp/status/1958698787947282765 </div></figure>     [player_tooltip player_id='216690' first='Trent' last='Seaborn'] had a huge night for Thompson, helping lead them to a 37-6 victory over Carver Montgomery.   “Seaborn has a terrific understanding of his offense and what to do with the ball- he scans the entire field, makes great decisions, and quickly gets the ball out, never putting it in harm's way.    On top of his mental attributes, Seaborn has a heck of an arm he uses to make difficult throws all over the field- he's a top-tier passer with tons of talent and potential.“   Last night was no different for Seaborn. He started the year off strong, passing for two TDs and rushing for another, picking apart Carver's defense in the second half.   One of the best plays of the night was Seaborn's 56-yard TD throw to [player_tooltip player_id='1621006' first='Dedrick' last='Kimbrough']. It's scary to think what this passing unit will achieve this season. "Reese is a talented passer who can make some impressive throws downfield. He has great arm strength and accuracy and does a great job not putting the ball in harm's way. I'm really impressed with Reese's command of the offense. He plays with a ton of confidence and can get the ball out extremely fast, helping his team consistently move the chains.   I think what impressed me most with Reeses' tape was how well he can avoid pressure and improvise on the move. Reese constantly ducks out of sacks and throws the ball beautifully on the move. He's a dynamic QB who can maneuver around the pocket and create huge plays when things look dead."   Reese had a HUGE night- completing 17/25 passes for 321 yards and 5 TDs, with another 30 rushing yards on the ground in a dominant 41-13 win.   Ramsay had no answers for Reese last night. Everyone needs to look out for him and this Parker offense; they're off to a hot start this season.
