Here are a few of those linemen who are now on the radar of various college football programs as the season approaches.
Cassius Hulbert Cassius Hulbert 6'3" | 300 lbs | OL Edon | 2022 OH 6’3” 300 Edon
Do not try and play base technique against this massive offensive lineman if you are across from him or you’re likely to end up on your back or driven through the back of the endzone. Hulbert plows defenders off the line of scrimmage with a devastating blow delivery followed by churning leg drive. He is just as dominating on the defensive front and impossible to single block.
James McCulloch James McCulloch 6'5" | 290 lbs | OL Pymatuning Valley | 2022 OH 6’5” 290 Pymatunig Valley
McCulloch is a strong and powerful right tackle that is destined to be an offensive guard at the next level. Despite playing a little high, he gets exceptional movement at the point of attack. McCulloch gets into the frame of the defender and often torques them to the turf. Like Hulbert, he is an immoveable object as a defensive lineman that blows offensive linemen into the backfield.
Matthew Searls Matthew Searls 6'8" | 305 lbs | OL Findlay | 2022 OH 6’8” 320 Findlay
This huge offensive tackle operates best out of a two-point stance which allows him to get off the ball better than if he was in a three-point. Even at that, he needs to work on his quickness and agility in order to handle movement. Searls can develop into an offensive guard at the next level due to his strength an ability to destroy opponents when he locks into them on single blocks, double teams, or down blocks.
Alexander Lowery Alexander Lowery 6'0" | 285 lbs | OL Elyria | 2022 OH 6’0” 283 Elyria
Lowery is an ideal shotgun center with consistent snaps in terms of ball placement and velocity. Naturally, he wins the leverage battle the majority of the time. Lowery gets his vice grip like hands into the frame of the offensive blocker and turns and twists them without losing control. He also displays mobility in climbing to the second level to pick up linebackers in space.
Trevor Ings Trevor Ings 6'1" | 270 lbs | OL Milford | 2022 OH 6’1” 270 Milford
Ings is high motor offensive lineman with excellent foot quickness for his size. He is one of the most fundamentally sound linemen around. He can reach a wide 5-technique, pull and lead, cutoff a 3-technique, and swipe to the next level with exceptional balance and body control. Ings is so good at pass protection he can pick up a blitz or line stunt like a seasoned veteran.
