Another fresh face and first-year starter for Maple Grove’s LB corps, Hansegard is closer to 5’10, 180 than his listed weight after seeing him in person, but boy is this kid a dog. I was curious about his size being able to hold up against climbing 6A OGs and giant tailbacks flying downhill with zero intention of making a cut. Lucky for Hansegard, he already can power clean 275 lbs., and that power and strength helped him more than assert him physically and hang with the big dogs during the War on the Shore and the various team mixers and scrimmages from the Bemidji State Team Camp. Hansegard can eat a block and come back for more in reliable fashion, and his verified 4.58 laser-verified 40-yard dash speed was as evident as it was impressive in his sideline-to-sideline pursuit range. Can’t wait to watch this young LB in 2026.

A 2029 Ranking’s Big Board debutant and a Top 5 linebacker that PRZMN is very excited to watch this season, Jake Hansegard Jake Hansegard 5'11" | 185 lbs | LB Maple Grove | 2029 State MN is already a Top 5 linebacker but owns room to rise. Maple Grove has been a recent linebacker factory with prospects heading to all levels of college football besides P4, we’ve been hearing some exciting buzz surrounding this Crimson up-and-comer all offseason, and he solidified that buzz with a couple of strong evaluation points on the Summer Camp Circuit. Measuring between 5’10-5’11, Hansegard went 4.5 flat at 2026 St. John’s University prospect camp and added a good showing at the Gophers’ prospect camp in June, going 4.64 in the 40, 4.21 in the pro, and 9’8 in the broad jump. Plus, he owns PRs of a 275 lb. bench, 275 clean (on video), confirmed 34″ vertical jump, and 365 x3 squat. No film, but this kid is athletic. Should be a fun debut season with the Crimson, though it may be a trial by fire, learn as you grow 6A experience.
