Hood Jr showed he could be a difference-maker at the Class A level, and now we’ll see how his game translates against tougher competition after transferring to Princeton. Based on what he put on tape as a freshman, there is plenty of reason for optimism, as Hood Jr is an agile, nimble runner who makes defenders miss in space and consistently runs with good balance through contact. He has natural elusiveness that is difficult to teach and allows him to generate extra yards and explosive plays. If his production and playmaking ability carry over to the Class AAA level as expected, Hood Jr has the potential to establish himself as one of the top overall prospects in West Virginia’s 2029 class.

For a 2029 prospect, the polish already stands out. He runs with balance, keeps his feet underneath him, and shows the kind of light footwork that allows him to slip through tight spaces. The burst is there when he sees daylight, and his spin move has already become a weapon that leaves defenders grabbing at air. What separates him at this stage is how consistently he makes the first man miss. Now the focus shifts to strength development and handling a larger workload as he matures physically. If Hood continues stacking good offseasons on top of a strong freshman campaign, he has a legitimate chance to solidify himself as one of the premier young running backs in West Virginia over the next few years.
