. Even though he is just a sophomore, Dane looks the part at 6’4″ 225 lbs. The multi-sport standout also is a multi-positional kid on the football field. Dane’s highlights on defense show a kid that is ready for the dirty work. He takes on blocks and sets the edge vs the run with really good power. I love the motor he plays with too, chasing down plays and pursuing downfield.

Dane is another massive impact player for Kewaunee. His two way impact helped Kewaunee to that 9-2 record. He would finish with 31 receptions, 433 yards, and 3 TDs. Plus he added 64 tackles, 12 TFLs, and 2.5 sacks off the edge.
It is impressive to see how dominant Kewaunee has been with their 24-0 record while multiple key contributors are only sophomores. Dane is 4th on the team in scoring with 11.4 PPG, leads the way in rebounding with 9 RPG, is 4th with 2.3 APG, and also 4th in steals with 1.3 SPG.
Dane is one of those athletes who stands out from the crowd with his size on the football field. Size that helps him win out as a receiving weapon and as an edge setter. The sophomore is a powerful kid too with so much room to add to that with him only at 215 lbs currently.

Next up we have the top edge defender/TE for the Class of 2028. This up and coming talent is very long and lean right now and his frame looks like it will be able to hold plenty more weight to handle the wear and tear of the next level. I love Dane’s quickness off the line and range when he gets into the backfield. An athlete with his build should be able to win with speed and quickness and he delivers. However, Dane further sets himself apart with some impressive power to fight off blocks on the edge without giving up any ground. He can create some power off his initial burst off the line, and he consistently plays with his hands. Keeping that separation from the OL is key to his success. I’m very excited for things to really come together for Dane as he further establishes himself this next season as an upperclassman.

When it comes to physicality, power, and mental tenacity in the Class of 2028 my mind goes to Kewaunee’s

. Dane was a varsity OL and edge defender. That isn’t a wild occurrence, but it becomes much more impressive when you see that he was bullying DL as a 205 lbs OL. Dane shows up and does his job and he does it to the best of his abilities. Abilities amplified by outstanding length, and an initial get-off at the snap that allowed him to get hands on first, create separation as a pass rusher/edge setter, and then shed the block and attack the ball. This fall I’m excited to see where his frame is at and watch him continue to develop the finer parts of hand use and block shedding overall.

You don’t see many 205 lbs freshmen earning All-Conference honors as a varsity OL, but it is pretty clear that Dane isn’t like many freshmen/sophomores. The most impressive part is that his future looks brightest with his defensive play. That long, lean frame can burst off the line of scrimmage from a two or three point stance. Even as a freshman Dane was able to win with that burst/speed or with power and use of his hands. When engaged Dane did well using that length to maintain separation and then his quickness to get to the heels of his man while finding the ball then closing quickly on it. Harrell seems to do everything with that next level blend of quickness and power. He is violent, yet also shows great instincts and quick play recognition that allows him to make the timely play. The two way impact player is going to be needed in a big way this fall in the trenches.
