Here's a look at some of the underclassmen quarterbacks in the Houston area who are already turning heads with their play. Many made their mark last season, showcasing impressive athleticism, poise, and confidence well beyond their years. These rising stars represent the next wave of standout signal-callers in the area and are names to know moving forward.

Tristin "TK" Gaines | Waller | 2028

Gaines stepped onto the field and made an immediate impact for the Waller Bulldogs. His ability to get the ball out quickly and keep drives alive helped the offense establish rhythm throughout the season. Gaines showcased his arm talent by fitting throws into tight windows and placing the ball where his receivers had the best chance to make a play. He demonstrated strong pocket presence, staying composed under pressure and delivering big-time throws when opportunities were there. Gaines throws with excellent anticipation but also has the athleticism to create plays when things break down. As a freshman, he threw for over 1,900 yards and 18 touchdowns, steadily growing in confidence as the season progressed. He's a name that will only continue to rise in the years to come.

[player_tooltip player_id='1567990' first='Camden' last='Hughes'] | The Woodlands College Park | 2027

Crowned "Newcomer of the Year" in his district, Hughes made a major statement with his play last season. Throwing for 2,555 yards and 27 touchdowns, he was a force behind center, consistently showcasing high-level playmaking ability. Hughes displayed impressive pocket awareness, climbing the pocket with poise and using his agility to escape pressure when needed. His arm strength stood out as he launched deep balls with accuracy, hitting his targets in stride and creating explosive plays downfield. Fearless in his approach, Hughes trusted his receivers and picked defenses apart with confidence. He's a player who will push for the top quarterback spot in the district and whose talent is impossible to overlook.

[player_tooltip player_id='473812' first='Jared' last='Hagger'] | Cypress Springs | 2027

Hagger showed off impressive arm strength and athleticism during his sophomore season. He throws a beautiful deep ball and stays composed under pressure, creating plays with both his arm and legs. His speed and vision make him a threat in the open field, and he's dangerous when in rhythm. With his dual-threat ability and continued growth, Hagger is a high-upside player to watch moving forward.

[player_tooltip player_id='946510' first='Carter' last='Lattelle'] | Klein | 2027

Lattelle displayed a true gunslinger mentality, letting the ball rip when opportunities presented themselves. He does a great job navigating the pocket, stepping up to avoid pressure while keeping his eyes locked downfield. Lattelle throws with confidence and isn't afraid to take shots, delivering accurate passes on the move. When he finds his rhythm, he can take over a game with his playmaking ability. For his sophomore campaign, Lattelle threw for over 1,800 yards and 18 touchdowns on 63% completion rate.

[player_tooltip player_id='409071' first='Braden' last='Baker'] | Cypress Ranch | 2027

Baker possesses the physical tools to be a game-changer and has proven he is ready for the moment. He gets the ball out quickly with good arm strength, hitting his receivers in stride. Baker shows impressive accuracy and anticipation, making confident throws into tight windows.
