He’s shown flashes at quarterback, running back, and on special teams, proving he understands the game from multiple angles and can step into different roles when needed. Russell is a big play waiting to happen when he touches the football. He is quick off the ball, which enables him to win early in his routes and his ability to get open often makes him a reliable target. Russell has the body control to make contested catches in traffic and he wins on the 50/50 jump balls routinely. He saw meaningful snaps as a freshman at Kenedy and he is one of top returners coming back this fall. Russell had a strong performance in Lubbock bringing home an offer from the Red Raiders. He also has offers from Mississippi State, UTSA and Baylor.

Dylan look good at receiver and you can tell there still a lot of room for him to grow, nut the tools are there. He looked good catching the ball , there were moments where you see it starting to click during camp. Dylan will be a different players once 2026 season comes around.

Doubling as a contested catch specialist and wildcat quarterback, Russell is an absolute specimen, boasting elite athleticism and 4.4 speed. He flashes excellent ball-tracking skills and thrives at high-pointing the football with timely anticipation and soft hands. After the catch (or snap), he showcases vision and quickness at all levels of the field, constantly making defenders miss. Still filling out a great frame, Dylan is sure to develop into an elite WR ready for the next level. He lit up the field as a freshman, totaling over 1,200 scrimmage yards and 17 touchdowns for the Lions. Expect his recruitment to pick up swiftly.
