SDSU 6/9 Prospect Camp: DL Standouts, Part 1

Jack is a 2026 defensive end, that I felt was starting to pick up steam on his recruiting trail during the SDSU prospect camp a couple weeks back. He is one of the more agile defensive ends that most of what I have watched during the live eval has continued to intrigue me ever since he came to our PRZ Dakotas Showcase a couple years ago. He has started to fill out his frame more yet keeping his sound twitch off the snap in which that twitch I felt was even faster in Brookings than ever before. One of a few defensive linemen that ran a sub 4.9 in the 40-yard dash in Brookings and has the springy get off to get downhill quickly. He still has his best football ahead of him and in the right system, college coaches at the D2 should be able to untap his high upside as the athletic traits are certainly there for Jack in my eyes. <a href="https://x.com/jmbertsch7">Twitter</a>     Tristen is our DL4 in the state of Wisconsin surely looked like it from the live eval I got from him at the SDSU prospect camp a few Mondays ago. The 6'2 270 pounder from Kettle Mortaine has some eye-catching pro agility numbers from SDSU and a ran 4.75 for his best his time which is absurd for his size in my eyes. He was very twitchy with his get off in the reps I watched in Brookings and it didn't take long to see that Tristen has a solid football IQ that I feel can even grow even more in the coming years. He also has the driving strength that caught my attention at a few camps already this summer and mixing that with his plethora of moves he has to get off his blocks, it's no wonder why his summer has started to boil up with plenty of offers.     I have seen Blake at this camp for a couple of years now, and one thing I have grasped is this young man might be undersized, but I love his work ethic I have seen against usually bigger competition. He showed off that is also an advantage, as Blake's quick agility can get underneath the pads of the offensive linemen with his athletic ability. Blake also is one that I feel has position flexibility to move to linebacker at the college level as an outside linebacker that surely shows that he can cover some range when you watch his outside moves I saw in Brookings. College coaches must be seeing that too, as he picked up his first local NAIA offer here last week. <a href="https://x.com/BKannegieter">Twitter</a>     Carter is a just about 6'3 235 pounder that was a Nebarska new name that caught my attention in Brookings. He ran a very intriguing pro agility time, which was a 4.72 which is excellent with that frame he brought the SDSU prospect camp. The 2026 defensive end from Lincoln Pius X, showed off what looks like plenty of rangey movement from what I could grasp during individual drills and looking briefly at his tape, you can see the consistency that is there for that skillset too. He certainly is another one on our OL/DL standouts from SDSU that has picked up steam with his recruting in the last moth or so especially at the D2 level.     A new Iowa name that I learned about at SDSU that I couldn't even find in our database, was Carson Mueggenberg out fo Ogden (IA). The explosive traits were certainly there, as I wouldn't doubt that anyone in the OL/DL group in Brookings jumped a 9'9 (!) in their broad jump especially knowing that there is great frame that Carson can grow in the coming year or two. Even though his tape shows off reps at outside linebacker, I could still surely see a college program turn him into an EDGE when its all said and done.
