Penn is a player I really like his overall upside. Penn has proven to be a dangerous dual threat quarterback. This first thing you notice about Penn is his ability to extend a play with his feet. Penn does a good job keeping his eyes down field as the pocket breaks down, and when nothing is there he makes positive yards to not take big losses. I really like penn’s arm also. He makes good throws in the pocket and also tough throws on the run. Keep an eye on Penn this fall. He has all the makings of a player ready to blow up and putting up major numbers for the Panthers.
Penn is a really solid dual threat that put a lot of good stuff on tape in 2025. He reads and reacts quickly and can tuck and run when things break down, and his vision and athleticism allow hm to turn them into explosive plays. It seems like his offensive line struggled, so a lot of his highlights are throwing off balance under duress or having to scramble around to find an opening. There aren’t many throws from a clean pocket so his mechanics are inconsistent on film, but I would love to see it in person soon. Right now he’s looking like he could develop into a solid D2 or high-end D3 prospect.
Penn had himself a nice showing. He showed nice flashes.
At his best, Penn was able to get some juice behind his throws and deliver an accurate ball. When stationary, Penn had a few extremely impressive throws, including perfect placement and timing on a 10-yard out. A few of his deep balls further proved that Penn can be an accurate quarterback. Though he was all-around inconsistent, which is very common with incoming sophomore QBs.
I love the tools. I feel that Penn can be a phenomenal quarterback for Alma this season.
